Finding magic, writing stories. My name is Eleanor Mulder, and I’m a mummy and a writer living near Perth, Western Australia. Except one man.
I’m drawn to unexplained mysteries, unsolved cases and enigmas of the past. The many layers of our history always lie beneath us, shaping how we live and affecting who we are today. I love the stories from those who lived in another time. My first novel (as yet unfinished), is set in Perth, WA, during the 1950s and begins with a body of young woman, abandoned among the tourists on Perth’s iconic Scarborough beach. Red lipstick smudged, full skirts and a pillbox hat, she’s a girl from a different time – and nobody knows who she is. He claims she’s his wife. A wife who went missing in 1956…
Magic is only one small step away from where we are…

Yes, some may say I’m weird, but I could have happily spent days at City of Wanneroo museum, searching through the archives, reading articles, and immersing myself in the photos of Atlantis Marine Park. Just fascinating 🥹🐬 Thank you to Emma who quite happily sat with me as I took over her desk. 🤗

We had a school holiday adventure to Toodyay with girls and dogs in tow. Country life has a huge pull for me and I could imagine myself living here very easily, writing novels and drinking cider. You can take the girl from Bristol, but you can’t take Bristol from the girl 🌳🐮🚉😆
