CPEC is excited to welcome Jacob Brown for our upcoming Technical Talk on Tuesday 22 September!

A UWA Chemical Engineering graduate, Jacob’s career has taken him well beyond the traditional engineering pathway — from Alcoa, to completing a PhD at the University of Cambridge, to Tesla’s first battery materials team, and eventually founding his own metals technology company, Magrathea.

After spending five years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jacob has worked across battery materials, metals technology, process development, scale-up, project economics and commercial strategy.

In this talk, Jacob will share how a Chemical Engineering degree can open doors far beyond the conventional graduate pathway and why Perth engineering students can go beyond Western Australia and into diverse industries.

If you’re curious about start-ups, innovation, battery technology, entrepreneurship, working overseas, or simply what else you can do with your degree, this is one you won’t want to miss.
