We are looking forward to the announcement this evening of the 21st Bowness Photography prize at MAPh with two strong contenders: Valerie Sparks and her compelling work, ‘Depth #2’, which was created using medical imaging technology, and attracted significant collector attention at the recent Sydney Comtemporary, and Penelope Davis, whose luminous ‘After Image blue/green’ (detail) was developed from traditional image capture in a colour dark room. We wish both artists the very best of luck. Both of the shortlisted works are available to be viewed in person at Gallerysmith and details can be found on the exhibitions page banner on our website.
