This week is NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. For five decades, NAIDOC Week has elevated the voices of communities, honouring Elders, celebrating culture and recognising the resilience and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It reminds us of the importance of listening, learning and embedding culturally capable practices that recognise the holistic nature of health, including connection to Country, family and community.

NAIDOC is more than a week. It reinforces our shared responsibility to deliver care that is respectful, culturally safe and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
