A meaningful check-in is more than a passing β€œHow are you?” πŸ’›

Between school drop-offs, the commute and everything else, real conversations can easily get squeezed out. R U OK Day is our reminder to pause, ask the question and stay for the answer.

Give someone your full attention today. Then check in again tomorrow, next week or whenever they cross your mind. Care should never be limited to one day.

If you’re thinking it, ask R U OK? Any Day.

High cholesterol usually needs a test, not a guess

High cholesterol may not cause noticeable symptoms. A blood test and a review of your overall cardiovascular risk can help your GP understand what the result means for you.

Your age, family history, blood pressure, smoking status and other health conditions may all be relevant to the conversation.

Book a GP appointment if your cholesterol is due for review.

Today is for the dads who make home feel steady. πŸ’™

Sometimes it is the big advice. Most of the time it is the lift home, the quiet check-in or simply being there when it matters. Those everyday moments say more than words ever could.

To every dad and father figure in our Springfield community, we hope today brings good food, plenty of laughs and absolutely no flat-pack furniture to assemble. πŸ˜„

Happy Father's Day from the Springfield Doctors team!πŸ‘”

A little something to baa-righten your day! πŸ‘πŸ’š

We had the cutest little visitor come through our doors, and no, he wasn’t here for an appointment! He’s one of our nurse’s fur babies. After being rejected by his mum, this little guy is now being hand-raised and absolutely spoiled by his humans.

Oh, and yes... of course the team wanted cuddles and a photo! 😍

We hope our fluffy visitor made you smile too. Happy Friday! πŸ’š

On a more serious note, we’re here over the weekend if you need us.😁

Perimenopause can show up in more ways than hot flushes.

Changes to periods, sleep, mood, concentration or comfort can all affect daily life during perimenopause and menopause.

Because symptoms and health histories differ, a GP appointment gives you space to talk through what is changing and discuss suitable options for your circumstances.

You do not need to wait until symptoms feel unmanageable before asking for help.

Our hearts are with the people of Nepal and Tibet following the devastating floods and landslides.

We are thinking of every family who has lost a loved one, those still waiting for news, and all those whose lives have been affected by this terrible disaster.

To our Nepalese community and everyone with loved ones in the region, please know you are in our thoughts. ❀️

Kiarah’s mug is doing all the talking today! πŸ˜‚β˜•

But when poor sleep keeps following you into the day, it can affect your concentration, mood, energy levels and ability to manage everyday tasks.

A GP can ask about your sleep pattern, routines, health, stress and other symptoms to help work out what may be contributing. A short sleep diary can give useful context at your appointment.

Ask reception about booking a review.

Bladder leaks are common, but you do not have to ignore them.

Talk with a GP if you leak urine when coughing, laughing or exercising, need to rush to the toilet, go more often than usual, or wake several times overnight to urinate.

There are different types and causes of urinary incontinence. A GP can assess your symptoms and discuss treatment or referral options.
