In my early years I immersed myself in the study of gemology, as well as the science and artisan techniques of processing precious metals into an art form. Working with metals one on one is as old as cultured man. As an Australian, I have a deep relationship with the sea, our dramatic outback, vibrant cities and of course unique lifestyle. These cultural influences combine when I design my hand made, precious metal creations. From the initial concept, through to the fabrication of the final piece, I have found that I gain a deep inner focus as a human being. I believe this can be seen in all my designs whether a fine and delicate piece, or custom made sublime commission. The satisfaction of creating something truly beautiful and timeless such as a treasured gift or personal reward, offers me as much pleasure as I know it does for those who wear my pieces. Matt Wise
