Lokma-nia operates at markets and festivals around Sydney. We also cater for special events such as Lokma-nia was born in the vibrant city of Istanbul. Mr.

Lokma-nia’s mixed heritage from Albania, Bosnia and Turkey gives him the natural ability to make delicious sweets. Grandfather Lokma-nia used to be a very well-known confectioner in the beautiful city of Eskisehir. Lokma-nia’s passion for Turkish sweets coupled with the desire to bring this amazing taste to Australia has resulted in its creation. Lokma ( Loukouma) is a Traditional Turkish Sweet and its origins go back to the Ottoman Empire. Lokma which means ‘mouthful’ in Turkish is a deep fried dough soaked typically in syrup, honey or cinnamon. Turkish Lokma stays crispy all day ! It is consumed either warm or cooled while maintaining its crispness and softness all day. Speciality of Turkish Lokma lies under having a properly cooked doughnut , while maintaining its crispiness without doughish texture inside even when it’s cold ; which makes it original like back in old days ! As a matter of fact it is much more crispy when it is cold. Lokma is a popular Street food in Turkey. Another tradition that is common in Turkey is the serving of Lokma after a funeral to the attendees. Lokma-nia aims to be the new craze of Turkish Street food in Sydney. We pride ourselves on our secret method of making the dough and syrup. Stay tuned for our funky topping variations that will make your mouth water!
