Our adoption coordinator and social media volunteers, are unavailable to answer any calls or messages until Monday.

When you see it, you can’t un-see it!!! Our building isn’t always “purple”, but some of us are pretty excited that there’s a WA team in the AFL Grand Final this weekend. Go Dockers!

We get asked why we don’t have a sign. When our building was built, it was decided not to have a painted sign that was freestanding or attached to the fence.

So we’re located next to City of Greater Geraldton Animal Management Facility (pound) and opposite the Geraldton Field Research Operations. To make it easier to find us at 7 Davies Rd, Utakarra, we’ve pinned our location on searches and maps.

We advise there are no dogs for viewing in kennels at our building. Dogs and pups are cared for by foster carers in private homes until they’re adopted. Our kennels are for rescue, emergencies and quarantine purposes.

To enquire about adopting from Geraldton Dog Rescue, please phone us on 0400219719. If our phone is unattended, please leave a message for our coordinator to call you as soon as possible. Calls are not always returned the same day, due to our coordinator having work & family commitments too. Thank you for your understanding.

ORION will be rehomed from the many enquiries that we’ve received to adopt a small dog just like him.

Being a small rescue organisation, we take expressions of interest to adopt over the phone. If you are thinking about adopting in the future, you are welcome to call us on 0400219719 to have a chat. The phone is not always attended, so please leave us a message & we’ll contact you as soon as possible. We can’t guarantee when we’ll have a dog for you, but our coordinator can answer your questions & might know which dogs are coming to us for rehoming.

Geraldton Dog Rescue will be looking out for your containers after the purple haze of the AFL Grand Final. Just don’t put the containers in landfill. All you need to donate to help us rescue and rehome dogs, is our scheme ID number which is C10338274.

If you have containers and can’t get to drop them off at the depot, you can do the “Bag it, Tag it & Drop it” option. Just remember to add our scheme ID number so your containers are processed to us, or give us a call & we’ll make a time to collect from you.

Geraldton Dog Rescue will be back at Rocks Laneway Arcade in Marine Terrace, Geraldton on Wednesday 30 September from 10am-12pm.

This free “Reading to Dogs” event is only held during school holidays, so we hope you can attend. If you have a favourite book, you’re welcome to bring that along to read to the dogs.

Thank you to City of Greater Geraldton for organising these activities and for inviting us to be involved. It looks like the dogs like the outing too.

Do you have a concession card? Our Veterinary Clinic at our Geraldton campus is offering low-cost desexing and vaccinations for eligible members of the public during:

📅 22nd to 25th September
📅 12th to 23rd October

Services available:
✔ Pet vaccinations
✔ Male and female cat desexing
✔ Male dog castration

😸 All procedures are performed under the supervision of qualified veterinary staff, providing valuable hands-on learning opportunities for our students.

🐶 Appointments are essential and must be booked in advance for both surgeries and vaccinations.

💉 Pets must be under 12 months old to be eligible for vaccinations

FLORES/EASTWARD RD ROUNDABOUT - NOW OPEN

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise that the new roundabout at the intersection of Flores Road, Eastward Road and Alexander Street is now open to traffic.

Motorists are requested to exercise caution while familiarising themselves with the new road layout.

Minor finishing works may continue in areas surrounding the roundabout.

The City thanks residents, businesses and road users for their patience throughout the construction period.
