Versatile Structures

Not every shade structure is just about creating shade.
For this warehouse project, we needed to create a 300m² weather-protected working area, while still giving semi-trucks plenty of room to manoeuvre, load and unload safely.
The solution is a custom-engineered PVC structure with a cantilevered section designed specifically around how the warehouse operates.
Of course, no project is without a few surprises! Asymmetrical boundaries, inconsistencies in the slab and concrete much thicker than the original plans showed all kept our team on their toes.
The result is a practical, purpose-built space that keeps the warehouse operating efficiently, rain or shine. We love it when design, engineering and practical thinking come together.

The Versatile Structures team had a brilliant day taking part in the Dreamworld Australia Wildlife Foundation Golf Day Fundraiser at Parkwood Village.
Beyond the fun, it was all for a great cause, with proceeds supporting DWF’s wildlife conservation programs helping protect species including koalas, bilbies and tigers.
Safe to say, the golf might need some work… but the commitment to the occasion was outstanding!

Our Versatile Strucures and Superior Coaters family is growing!
We came together in early August for a social BBQ to wish Vanessa Tregloan well as she headed off on maternity leave — and now we’re delighted to share the wonderful news that Vanessa and Shayne have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Gemma, born on 17 August.
A huge congratulations to Vanessa, Shayne and the whole family as they settle into this very special new chapter.

For the sixth year running, Year 12 students at The Springfield Anglican College are taking part in Cancer Council Australia’s Ponytail Project — growing their hair, raising funds, and preparing for the big chop to support cancer research, prevention programs and people affected by cancer.
Sun protection is at the heart of what we do at Versatile Structures.— designing and installing quality shade structures that prevent harmful UV exposure. From school playgrounds to community parks and public spaces, we help to create safer outdoor environments and reduce exposure to our harsh Australian sun.
So supporting an initiative that helps Cancer Council fund cancer prevention, support and research feels especially worthwhile and we're very happy to get behind William Howard’s fundraising efforts with a $2,000 donation, helping him reach his goal — and putting our team at the top of the sponsor leaderboard!
Such an amazing initiative guys, we'll be cheering you on when it’s time for the big chop! ✂️🎗️

Our team nicknamed this project “Big Blue”. 💙
With its unique shape and scale, the architectural entranceway at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Rosebery required precision engineering to bring the design to life.
Working closely with Pattons, our team needed to bring the architect’s vision to life while keeping the steel connections minimal and maintaining the clean lines of the design. Installation brought its own challenges, including saturated ground, a tight work zone and the need for two cranes to achieve the precise alignment of the structure.
In the end it all came together: a pretty spectacular entrance that combines architecture, engineering and craftsmanship — and one we’re very proud to have helped bring to life.

We're supporting this important message from Specialised Textiles Association and proud to be part of an industry that designs, manufactures and installs high-performance textile structures used across commercial, architectural and industrial projects.
