📻💙 This October, help keep our community’s voice on air.
Behind every program, every song, every conversation and every story on WYN FM are people who care about our community.
For many of us, WYN FM is more than a radio station. It’s a place where cultures, languages, stories and local voices come together. ❤️
Our Radiothon runs throughout October, and we’re asking our wonderful community to support us if you can.
Every donation, big or small, helps us continue bringing community radio to you and supporting the equipment and running costs that keep us on air.
🙏 If WYN FM has ever made you feel connected, heard or part of something, please consider giving back this October.

Together, we can keep community voices heard. 💙📻
“I couldn’t resist… I was tempted!”
Veerah REALLY wanted that treat! He had to practise self-control and patience.
It reminded me of a lesson from Raising Resilient Families: we can want something, hear “no” and still manage our feelings respectfully.
But wellbeing is about more than learning to accept someone else’s “no”. ❤️ It’s also about helping children understand their own boundaries, their right to say no, and that their comfort and consent matter too.
These everyday moments can become little lessons in self-control, emotional wellbeing, boundaries, respect and consent.
💭 Gentle reflection: How can we help our children or the children we care for practise saying “no”, hearing “no”, respecting boundaries and knowing that their own wellbeing matters too?

A reflection from the book, Raising Resilient Families ❤️
One of the lessons I hope we teach our boys is that being kind doesn’t mean being a people pleaser.
Teach boys that it’s okay to say, “I’m not okay,” “I need help,” or “I need someone to talk to.”
But also to stand up for themselves and others. Peer pressure can make boys feel they need to follow negative behaviours to fit in. We need to give them the confidence to say, “That’s not okay. I’m not joining in.”
Teach them to call out harmful behaviour, support others, set boundaries and walk away when something doesn’t feel right.
Asking for help is strength. Standing up for yourself and others is strength. ❤️

🌸 5 Key Takeaways from Today’s Mindful Moments with Amby Raj
🌱 1. Your career doesn’t have to be a straight line.
Changing direction, trying something new or starting again doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Every experience gives you skills you can carry forward.
💪 2. Resilience means continuing, even when you feel uncertain.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. Sometimes resilience is simply trusting yourself enough to take the next step.
👩👧 3. Motherhood doesn’t mean the end of ambition.
Women can be loving mothers while continuing to learn, grow, lead and pursue their dreams. It’s okay for life to have different seasons.
📚 4. It’s never too late to learn something new.
Education and growth can happen at any stage of life. Your age, career gaps or past experiences don’t have to define what you can achieve next.
✨ 5. You are allowed to begin again.
Whether you're returning to work, changing careers, rebuilding confidence or simply finding yourself again, your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
“You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to change direction. You are allowed to begin again.” 🌷

🌿 5 Key Takeaways from Today’s Mindful Moments with Emma Laitala
💗 1. Listen to your body, don’t fight it.
Our bodies change through different stages of life. Instead of trying to “fix” ourselves, we can learn to understand, support and appreciate our bodies.
🏋️♀️ 2. Strength is about more than appearance.
Building physical strength can support confidence, mobility, energy and resilience. It’s about being strong enough to enjoy and live the life you want.
🌙 3. Sleep and wellbeing matter.
Changes in sleep, energy and mood can affect everyday life. Paying attention to these changes and seeking professional support when needed is an important part of caring for ourselves.
🌸 4. Midlife can be a season of understanding and growth.
Perimenopause and other changes can feel confusing, but women don’t have to navigate them alone. Understanding what is happening can help us feel more informed and supported.
🤍 5. You don’t have to wait until you’re struggling to care for yourself.
Movement, rest, connection, support and small mindful moments all matter. Looking after yourself isn’t selfish. Your wellbeing matters, your body matters, and you matter. 🌷
