The Quarterly CAVE Association Meeting was held at the Upazila Livestock Office, Sakhipur, Tangail, bringing together representatives from the Department of Livestock Services, Heifer International Bangladesh, and BASA Foundation.
🎯 Key discussion points included:
🐄 Strengthening collaboration between CAVE members and the Department of Livestock Services
💉 Ensuring timely livestock treatment and vaccination services
📅 Planning quarterly activities for CAVE Association members
🌾 Improving access to quality feed and other essential inputs through private sector partnerships

🐝 বাংলাদেশে স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি চাষের নতুন দিগন্ত: পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে BASA Foundation-এর পরীক্ষামূলক উদ্যোগ
বাংলাদেশে টেকসই কৃষি, জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ এবং গ্রামীণ অর্থনীতিকে আরও শক্তিশালী করার লক্ষ্যে BASA Foundation বান্দরবান পার্বত্য জেলার সদর উপজেলার অগ্রগামী কৃষক জনাব আব্দুস সাকুর-এর মাধ্যমে পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি (Stingless Bee) চাষ শুরু করেছে।
বিশ্বের উষ্ণ ও উপ-উষ্ণমণ্ডলীয় অঞ্চলে স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি বহু বছর ধরে পরাগায়ন, বনজ উদ্ভিদের সংরক্ষণ এবং উচ্চমূল্যের ঔষধিগুণসম্পন্ন মধু উৎপাদনের জন্য বিশেষভাবে পরিচিত। গবেষণায় দেখা গেছে, এরা শতাধিক প্রজাতির ফল, সবজি, মসলা ও বনজ উদ্ভিদের পরাগায়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে, যা কৃষি উৎপাদন ও জীববৈচিত্র্য রক্ষায় উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রাখে।
বাংলাদেশের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের প্রাকৃতিক বন, বৈচিত্র্যময় ফুলের উৎস এবং অনুকূল জলবায়ু স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি পালনের জন্য অত্যন্ত সম্ভাবনাময়। এই মৌমাছি হুলবিহীন হওয়ায় নারী, তরুণ ও ক্ষুদ্র নৃগোষ্ঠীর পরিবারের সদস্যদের জন্যও নিরাপদ ও সহজে পরিচালনাযোগ্য একটি আয়বর্ধক উদ্যোগ হতে পারে।
💰 অর্থনৈতিক সম্ভাবনা
- স্টিংলেস মৌমাছির মধুর বাজারমূল্য সাধারণ মৌমাছির মধুর তুলনায় অনেক বেশি।
- অল্প জায়গায় এবং কম বিনিয়োগে চাষ শুরু করা সম্ভব।
- মধুর পাশাপাশি উপনিবেশ (কলোনি) উৎপাদন ও বিক্রির মাধ্যমে অতিরিক্ত আয়ের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি হতে পারে।
- ফল ও সবজি ফসলে উন্নত পরাগায়নের মাধ্যমে কৃষি উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে, যা কৃষকের সামগ্রিক আয় বাড়াতে সহায়ক হবে।
- পরিবেশবান্ধব এই উদ্যোগ জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব মোকাবিলা এবং টেকসই জীবিকা গঠনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখতে পারে।
🌿 BASA Foundation-এর ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা
বান্দরবানে চলমান এই পরীক্ষামূলক কার্যক্রম সফল হলে বান্দরবান, রাঙামাটি ও খাগড়াছড়ি—দেশের তিন পার্বত্য জেলায় পর্যায়ক্রমে স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি চাষ সম্প্রসারণের উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হবে। এর মাধ্যমে একটি নতুন সবুজ অর্থনীতি, জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ এবং পার্বত্য জনগোষ্ঠীর জন্য টেকসই আয়ের নতুন সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করার লক্ষ্য নিয়ে BASA Foundation কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
প্রকৃতি বাঁচলে কৃষি বাঁচবে, কৃষি বাঁচলে অর্থনীতি সমৃদ্ধ হবে।
স্টিংলেস মৌমাছি হতে পারে বাংলাদেশের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের টেকসই উন্নয়নের এক নতুন সম্ভাবনার নাম। 🌼🐝
