# # # Subject–Verb Agreement-এর নিয়ম ও কৌশল

**Subject–Verb Agreement** বলতে বোঝায়—বাক্যের **Subject (কর্তা)** অনুযায়ী **Verb (ক্রিয়া)**-এর Number বা বচন ঠিক রাখা।

# # # মূল কথা:

* **Singular Subject → Singular Verb**
* **Plural Subject → Plural Verb**

**Example:**

* He **plays** football.
→ সে ফুটবল খেলে।
* They **play** football.
→ তারা ফুটবল খেলে।

> **মনে রাখুন:** Present Indefinite Tense-এ সাধারণত Singular Subject-এর সঙ্গে **V1 + s/es**, আর Plural Subject-এর সঙ্গে **V1** হয়।

Subject এবং Verb-এর মাঝখানে অনেক শব্দ থাকলেও Verb মূল Subject অনুযায়ী হবে।

→ ছেলেটি তার বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে খেলছে।

এখানে **friends**-এর কারণে বিভ্রান্ত হওয়া যাবে না।
আসল Subject = **The boy** → তাই **is**।

দেখতে Plural মনে হলেও **Many a** এবং **More than one**-এর পরে Singular Verb হয়।

**Few** = খুব কম / প্রায় নেই
**A few** = কিছু
**Less than one** = একের কম

**Few students are present.**
→ অল্প কয়েকজন ছাত্র উপস্থিত।

**A few students are absent.**
→ কয়েকজন ছাত্র অনুপস্থিত।

তবে ছবির নিয়মে **“Less than one”**-কে Singular হিসেবে দেখানো হয়েছে:

**Less than one rupee is left.**
→ এক টাকারও কম অবশিষ্ট আছে।

Tag Question-এর মূল নিয়মাবলি
* Rule 1 (Auxiliary Verb): প্রদত্ত বাক্যটিতে Auxiliary Verb (am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had, can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must) থাকলে, Tag করার সময় উক্ত Verb-ই ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
