Hoogmartens achieves CO₂ performance ladder level 3 – a milestone in sustainable entrepreneurship. 🪜🌱

We are proud to look back on our intensive collaboration with Hoogmartens Wegenbouw in their journey towards certification at level 3 of the CO₂ performance ladder. As a family business with roots in Oudsbergen and a strong reputation in infrastructure works, Hoogmartens is not only demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, but also its strategic insight into future-oriented business operations.

Our guidance focused on setting up a robust CO₂ management system, mapping the carbon footprint and formulating concrete reduction measures.👣 Thanks to the efforts of the entire team – from operational data to strategic choices – the certificate was obtained, and Hoogmartens is now ready for tenders in which the CO₂ performance ladder is an award criterion.

A special mention goes to Hoogmartens, CEO but also chairman of Embuild Vlaanderen, who, with his vision and leadership, sets an inspiring example for young entrepreneurs in the construction sector.👏

On World Bicycle Day, we're joining the national (Ik fiets naar het werk) campaign! 🚲

At Encon, we're fans of sustainable mobility. For years, we've been investing in a fully electric carfleet and bike leasing for our employees. Because every sustainable ride counts.💡

Last week, our colleagues Stijn and Ans shared their personal stories on how they have grown since they started working here at Encon.📼 As you could tell from their videos and written testimonials, even though they have different backgrounds, personalities and interests, they both have something in common. A certain attitude – known as a ‘growth mindset’. 🌳

Coincidence ? Not at all. We actively recrute people with a certain drive for personal development. People that are willing to learn, evolve and improve, so that in turn Encon can evolve and grow. ⏫

On 08/04 and 09/04, two of our colleagues from the Wind Energy & Permitting department attended the WindEurope annual event in Copenhagen. This event is a great way to connect with different stakeholders in the industry, get the latest technological updates and follow up on the market trends.

Here are some of the main takeaways from the event:
• In geopolitically uncertain times, wind energy is one of the cheapest ways to ensure energy independence and competitiveness for the European industry.
• Electrification, storage, and renewable energy go hand in hand. When combined, they form an optimal and integrated solution for today’s challenges. ♻️
• Investment and permitting risks remain key challenges in the sector.

These takeaways serve as strong a reminder of the importance of Encon’s work, tackling all these challenges for our customers every day.
