I also no longer cycle along the A28, too many close passes or people yelling at you to move over if you’re not in the ‘bike lane’.

“Fortunately, the vast majority of drivers around here are courteous and considerate when I’m on my bike, though of course it only takes one idiot to ruin your day. Or worse.” 👇

German company EMEC-Prototyping has developed a roadside test bench to help police identify ‘illegally tuned’ e-bikes. How it compares to the system the Met Police uses (sometimes!) is unknown, but apparently it’s ‘AI-enabled’, and the Dresden-based company has previously developed test benches for e-bike companies such as Decathlon. The system is set for deployment next year. 👇
