Well, it is back to school!!🍎
This our second ‘Word of the Day’ for 2026 (we’re so sorry!). Lovebombing is a psychological manipulation tactic meant to influence a person.
Lovebombing shows up as excessive affection, grand gestures, and intense attention early on in the relationship.
This can look like over-the-top compliments, excessive or lavish gifts, rapid pressure to commit, isolation tactics, and deep mirroring (for example, liking all of your interests).
Here’s three things to remember:
Pace: Lovebombing moves at a frantic, overwhelming pace. Normal affection moves naturally.
Boundaries: In lovebombing, a person ignore or push past your boundaries. In natural affection, a person respect your boundaries.
Communication: In lovebombing, there’s constant and excessive texting and calling. In natural affection, there’s frequent and enthusiastic contact, but there’s no panic or punishment attached.

Team Brain & Gut!🧠
We know there’s a connection between the brain and the gut i.e, the longest nerve in the body, the vagus nerve, connects the two and that some neurotransmitters (brain cells) are made in the gut!
There’s also a connection with ADHD. We often think of ADHD in terms of attention, impulsivity and executive functioning, but emerging research suggests the effects may extend beyond the brain.
A recent review led by researchers at the University of Warwick analysed data from more than 1.9 million people across 23 studies and found that ADHD was associated with an almost 50% higher rate of gastrointestinal symptoms. People with ADHD also had nearly twice the odds of constipation and 58% higher odds of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
The findings show an association rather than proving that ADHD definitively causes gut problems but it is a reminder that ADHD can involve more than the symptoms we typically associate with it, and that physical symptoms deserve attention too!

It’s all about context🧐.
Somethings are just easier to read then explain through, am I right?!
Here’s a little light hearted fun and friendly reminder to not be afraid to give your therapist all the context!

Let’s Move!🎽🚶🏾♀️🏑
We all know exercise is good for our bodies, but did you know your brain benefits too?
Regular physical activity and/or sport can reduce your risk of stroke, depression, dementia, certain cancers and even premature death by up to 30%.
Research tells us that we should ideally aim for 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week (around 30 minutes, 5 days a week) or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week (or a combination of both).
If you needed another reason to get moving, consider this your sign!

Let’s Think About You💛
Say it with me… 🔊Taking care of myself is not something I will get to later!🔊
Work, family, responsibilities, etc., let’s get into the habit of prioritising our health and wellbeing rather than placing ourselves at the bottom of an endless to-do list.
Yes, we can naturally feel guilty for taking time for ourselves because there is always something else that needs to be done. But don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed or unwell before giving yourself the care and attention you need.

Hello September🧠
Ever feel like September is the perfect time to finally get your life together? Maybe you suddenly want to start exercising, get organised or finally tackle that thing you’ve been putting off all year?
This isn’t just a coincidence! Our brains respond to what is called the “fresh start effect”. With events like back to school, new routines & schedules etc can help us mentally separate from past habits and feel more motivated to make changes.
So, if you’re feeling the urge for a September reset, your brain might be onto something! 🧠

S I X🎉🥳🥹
This week we will turn 6! As some may know, I often shy away from celebrating accomplishments. Honestly, even at this very moment, it still feels slightly challenging to do.😅.
I want to thank every single person I’ve encountered throughout this journey. Every story, every lesson, every experience has been so meaningful. Words cannot express enough gratitude.
Heres to six balloons…
🎈One for growth,
🎈One for self-belief
🎈One for sacrifice
🎈One for resilience
🎈One for the mental breakdowns 😅
And
🎈One for the people who helped carry it all.

Zoned Out🧠
Ever zoned out while talking to someone or day-dreamt in the middle of a meeting? Or how about that time you were watching Netflix but you couldn’t recall the scene you just watched? This is our brain’s “offline mode”!
When we enter our zone out/ daydream state this is actually a shift of attention away from a primary task (e.g. focusing on a meeting). Our brain’s decide that nothing too important, difficult or threatening is happening so your attention can go elsewhere, cutting off our external and internal world.
There are two levels to our “offline mode”: When you realize you’re not focusing on your primary task in front of you; or, when you have no awareness of when you have zoned out. Zoning out/ daydreaming is not just your brain creating empty space, its a complex cognitive process!
