Identifying the Tribulation Saints

No passage in the New Testament that presents saints in the Tribulation positively identifies them as church-age Christians. On the contrary, their distinctive features indicate that the God-ordained economy during the Tribulation will be the Mosaic law and that the “Christians” will be Messianic Jews, not church-age Christians.

1. The temple and the Sabbath — Matthew 24:15–21
The Tribulation features the temple, the holy place, Judea, and the Sabbath—contrary to the Church age.

2. The Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb — Revelation 15:2–3
Tribulation martyrs sing the Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb, implying that the economy during the Tribulation involves a return to the Mosaic law.

3. The temple, altar, and worshippers — Revelation 11:1–2
God recognizes the temple, altar, and worshippers during the Tribulation.

4. Mosaic law in the seventieth week — Daniel 9:24–27
The seventy weeks were declared upon Israel and Jerusalem as a unified block of time with a unified purpose.

Everywhere we look in the Bible, the saints we see in the Tribulation are Jewish believers in the Messiah who serve God through the Mosaic law with a particular focus on the temple service. We don’t see church-age Christianity or church-age Christians anywhere.

This forces unprejudiced students of the Bible to conclude that the Tribulation believers are Messianic Jews and not church-age Christians. This, in turn, implies that the church age has concluded and that the church has been removed from Earth before the Tribulation.

This necessitates a pretribulation Rapture.
