A child came to the After Hours Til Dawn show in Jakarta simply to have fun and see The Weeknd — an artist they’ve probably looked forward to seeing for a long time. And today, during the show, the child was pushed against the barricade.

All of this just for a video. Why push a child? Why put a phone directly in Abel’s face? There have to be limits.

This isn’t the first time fans have crossed boundaries. We’ve seen similar behavior since the beginning of the European leg of the After Hours Til Dawn Tour, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to watch.

The Weeknd has always had a unique connection with his fans — coming down from the stage, interacting with the crowd, and creating unforgettable moments. But when fans repeatedly cross personal boundaries, that connection can change.

And if one day The Weeknd stops coming down from the stage or interacting with fans as closely, people may call him distant or disrespectful. But moments like this are exactly why artists sometimes have to create those boundaries.

Enjoy the show. Support your favorite artist. Take your videos. But respect the people around you — especially children — and respect Abel’s personal space.

The Weeknd just introduced a NEW TRANSITION for “Given Up On Me” during the After Hours Til Dawn Tour in Tokyo, Japan — and anime fans immediately recognized the sample. 🇯🇵🖤

The new intro features elements of “Guts,” the iconic theme from the Berserk anime, composed by legendary Japanese musician Susumu Hirasawa.

The transition appears right before “Given Up On Me” from Hurry Up Tomorrow, creating another unexpected connection between The Weeknd’s music, Japanese culture and anime.

The Weeknd just brought “Popular” back to the After Hours Til Dawn Tour 2026 in Tokyo, Japan!

At the Belluna Dome, Abel Tesfaye performed the hit collaboration with Madonna and Playboi Carti, giving Japanese XO fans a huge The Idol throwback.

And the moment got even crazier — Abel removed “Niagara Falls” from the setlist to make room for “Popular”, bringing one of the biggest songs from The Idol soundtrack back to the stage.

Originally released in 2023, “Popular” became one of the standout tracks associated with The Idol era, combining The Weeknd’s vocals with Madonna’s iconic presence and Playboi Carti’s verse.

After roughly three years without a live performance, hearing “Popular” live in Tokyo was definitely a surprise.
