“𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭”
I finally got to appreciate what this tagline truly means through the SAP Connect Day - Botswana, and it was very insightful! A big shout out to SAP and African SAP User Group (AFSUG) Botswana chapter for the insights exchange and thought leadership discussions on process modernization, AI adoption, responsible practices as well as SAP success stories globally and from some of the esteemed organizations in Botswana.

Here’s what I left the room thinking about:
1. How can regulatory bodies improve Digital governance to support AI adoption in Botswana?
2. Modernization does not always translate to digitization.
3. Our systems reflect our culture, be it quality, standards, controls, data integrity or user behavior.
4. Upgrading systems without improved integrity is like putting lipstick on a pig.
5. The SAP community in Botswana has progressive responses to modernization and using the system to achieve strategic and operational goals.

As a Project Manager, hearing the voices of the solution custodians , consumer users and implementors adds to the knowledge bank that I will leverage to ensure successful, impactful and responsible delivery of projects!

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Sometimes, it’s a response to urgency.

While driving to work, I came across a road marking that read “AHEAD” , the typography was clearly non-standard. Imperfect. Visually inconsistent.
Easy to critique from a compliance and design lens. But here’s the real question: 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤?
In high-speed, real-world environments, impact is not only measured by perfection, but by timely recognition and behavioral response. If that marking causes drivers to slow down, anticipate, and adjust, then it delivers its core purpose.
This is what I call 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 in systems and transformation.
When conditions are constrained or evolving, priorities shift:
- From perfect ex*****on to effective intervention
- From consistency to clarity
- From ideal state to immediate risk reduction.

Standards remain critical. They build trust, predictability, and system integrity over time.But in critical moments, speed of response and compliance often outweigh structural perfection.

The real discipline is knowing when to hold the line, and when to act.
Because sometimes, the greatest risk isn’t imperfection, it is delay!

𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙄𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜!

I recently stumbled upon a few candid shots my colleagues took of me. Some quite serious, others so hilarious that anyone watching office footage would probably ask:
“How many billable hours is she really clocking?” 😅

But here’s the thing...someone is always watching.Whether it’s a teammate, a client, or even your future self reviewing your own progress. What truly matters isn’t how busy you look, but whether you actually have work that speaks for itself.

So yes, work smart. Laugh in between. Be human. As long as you don’t become an ornamental resource, someone who looks occupied yet produces little of real value.

At the end of the day, impact leaves the best impression.

How do you balance visibility and real impact at work?

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺... seriously, it’s all US!

I was just trying to zoom into this picture and accidentally pasted a duplicate sticker of myself onto it and that absolutely fascinated me.

My first reaction? The edits almost made it look AI-generated. It didn’t quite match how I actually looked at the photoshoot… but then it hit me: at the end of the day, it’s still me.

That tiny image qualm turned into a bigger reflection on something I’ve been leaning into lately: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

We’ve all heard “Me, Myself and I” somewhere and it’s not just a Beyoncé classic. Honestly, it’s your immediate Board of Directors.

Every day, your passion, purpose, obligations, interests, even your spontaneity influences your decisions. And when those facets of you are in sync, something shifts:

• Your energy flows easier.

• Your decisions have more conviction.

• Progress feels less forced, more natural.

• You give yourself grace to close the year strong… and to rest when you need to.

As the year winds down, I’m choosing to honour my multiple selves: the doer, the dreamer, the planner, and the occasional chaos agent.

Because when we agree, the path gets clearer.

So yes… my Facets and I will be at the table.

“𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐬”.
Ofcourse, any photographer would want to capture your most flattering angle. But I looked it up recently and it turns out it would “break the illusion that you’re the center of attention or make one look unnatural”, interesting!
I found it rather intriguing and it reminds me of how important it is to frame yourself for the point of view and perspective you want to be seen through. Why would that be a big deal? Being chosen is not just about meeting the criteria, it’s about exuding traits that suggest you are “the one”. With inherent and unique qualities for your seat at the table.

Being a Project Manager helps Me to achieve this in two ways:
1) Cognitive framing: Challenging known negatives and distorted thoughts associated with a situation.
2) Reframing and Perspective shifting: reinterpreting a situation from all stakeholders perspectives.

These give a 360 view of a situation, improves stakeholder experience and fosters desired culture.

Flashback to yesterday’s roundtable discussion on navigating challenges amd effectively leading through turmoil, with some of Botswana’s seasoned business leaders.Key breakthrough moments were lessons on leveraging relationships with Government and Advocacy institutions, leading with Self Awareness to defeat biases, learning from those who thrive in crisis as well as diversifying for agility and resilience.

Whether we’re grappling with economic shifts, organizational change, or rising stakeholder pressure, the demand for agile, grounded, and people-centric leadership has never been greater.
