Airdrie continues to explore innovative ways to support entrepreneur success.

On Sept. 15, the City of Airdrie will highlight its innovative approach to strengthening the local business ecosystem through a presentation at the 2026 Annual Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Conference, titled Building Local Business Capacity: How Airdrie Embedded Financial Capability into its Entrepreneur Ecosystem.

Presented by Jessica Williamson and Taunya Woods Richardson, the session examines how Airdrie leveraged partnerships with local professionals, mentors and economic development organizations to enhance financial confidence among entrepreneurs. The presentation showcases how this collaborative model is helping business owners strengthen financial planning, improve access to capital and build greater resilience for long-term success.

It's a practical example of how communities can leverage existing assets and partnerships to strengthen their business ecosystem. Learn more about Airdrie’s financial literacy program for business owners, The Cashflow Canvas at airdriecommon.ca/cashflow-canvas
