In case you haven’t heard. The NS government has resumed spraying dangerous herbicides across NS to kill broad leaf trees, making logging easier. Several of these sites have not been properly marked, exposing people, pets, wild animals which are hunted and nature its self, wells. Please check with your municipality to find out if there are sites local to you.

Happy to share another successful foster story. Wanta is happily settling into her new home. To be honest, I was hoping they’d adopt me instead! This lucky girl gets home made honey, grape vines, a new little brother and an ocean view! ❤️ Congratulations to Wanta and her new family.

Heads up to anyone spending time in the woods. You may want to look up the spray sites before heading into the woods and wetlands. These products are dangerous for us, our pets, horses snacking along trail rides etc.
⚠️WARNING TO NOVA SCOTIA FORAGERS ⚠️
Do you know what these signs mean in the forest?
They’re very easy to miss, often tucked into bushes or poorly placed.
If you read the smallest print on the sign, you will notice it says not to eat fruits or berries during the glyphosate spray season, which is active from August 23rd until September 30th.
If you do not access the area from a trails accessible by vehicle, you will not see the signage at all. 🙄 Not only does glyphosate destroy biodiversity around areas sprayed, it is extremely hazardous to humans when consumed. ☠️☠️☠️
Plants and water sources that are usually safe are now hazardous if consumed by people, pets and wild animals. 🤢
We are calling Nova Scotians to action to protect our backyards where we forage, fish, hunt, and enjoy the beauty of the wilderness in Nova Scotia! 📢
Contact your local governments to call for an end of aerial spraying of glyphosate in Nova Scotia: 👇

Night 2 for Wanta… going to be a late night of trust building. Sweet girl doesn’t trust enough to eat.
Ok we’re sleeping on the couch at 03:30
Scary first day for our foster girl Wonta. Not sure which scares her more… my french or my presence. Sadly she had been holding her bowels and bladder and needed to go out. Happy to say, she caved to my terrible French.
