The Cumberland County Museum and Archives are offering a wonderful experience this year. Create your own piece of art over 2 days on the grounds of the Grove Cottage. The workshop details are below. In addition, there is a reception and exhibit on Thursday evening, "Chair Pads of Cumberland County". The exhibit will be available for viewing from the 13th through October 17th, at the Cumberland County Museum and Archives, 10 a.m. to 4 daily.

I like how you can hear these things without your thoughts being interrupted. In a way these natural sounds seem to help my focus. They remind me where I am and give me a centred feeling.”

As part of the Shorts Programme 1 at the Atlantic International Film Festival this Thursday at 5:45pm will be the World Premiere of HOOKED a 20 min documentary on rug hooking artist Deanne Fitzpatrick. A unique chance to see this inspiring film on the big screen.

Just out my window there are hundreds of colours and shades and shapes. No two trees are alike. Nature, the wild thing it is deems that every single thing must bear only its own resemblance. We accept this. Every leaf, every blade of grass, every pebble its own. And each of us the same, no two faces the same, no two souls alike.

“When I do the slow mornings and give myself time to listen to my heart, and feel the presence of the life within me I am brought back to my senses. I find my breath and it is easy, in and out and I feel my soul. Because my soul wants these slow times. It wants to read in the morning and listen to the rain and feel the wind against the clapboard, and so I am going to let it.”
