September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage our guests, team and community to take a moment to reflect, remember and learn. Please see the Town of Banff’s post below for opportunities to participate in the community.

On September 30, take time to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day honours Survivors of residential schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and recognizes the ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples, families and communities.

You are invited to participate in opportunities for reflection and learning, including a Gentle Reflection Walk with Dani, granddaughter of a Metis residential school Survivor, and a screening of Bones of Crows at Lux Cinema Banff.

Find full program details at banff.ca/ndtr.

Larch season has arrived! One of the most iconic fall experiences in Banff and Lake Louise, larch season brings a spectacular transformation to the Canadian Rockies. For a short window each year, alpine trails come alive with brilliant golden trees and breathtaking mountain views.

Larches are unique conifers that turn a vibrant gold before shedding their needles for winter. Their golden glow typically lasts just a few weeks, making late September and early October a truly special time to hit the trails. Full details on how to experience the larches can be found here - https://www.banfflakelouise.com/fall
