The Isidore String Quartet and pianist Jeremy Denk take the stage at Gates Concert Hall for an afternoon of Schumann, Brahms, and Webern. A young, in-demand quartet meets one of the biggest names in classical piano. We think that sounds like a pretty spectacular way to begin.

We are thrilled to open our 2026-2027 Season on October 4, 2026, with the dazzling Isidore String Quartet in collaboration with the amazing young cellist Sterling Elliott. Program will include works by Haydn, Bridge, and Schubert. Be sure to join us for another memorable afternoon of music-making! Concert starts at 3:15pm at Trinity Baptist Church San Antonio, but come at 2:30pm to hear a talk by our president Daniel Anastasio .

Newport Classical Presents the Isidore String Quartet On WCRB In Concert, the ISQ, founded in 2019 at the Juilliard School, performs the music of Haydn and Mendelssohn at The Breakers Mansion in Newport, RI.

Today, we share that our friend and colleague, Joshua McClendon, will be stepping away from the Isidore String Quartet to pursue a new career path outside of music.

From the early days in the Juilliard practice rooms to stages around the world, Josh has been an essential part of the quartet’s journey. We are deeply grateful for everything he has contributed over the past seven years, and it has been a privilege to build this ensemble together. We wish him every success in this next chapter.

Over the past few months, we have had the pleasure of auditioning and spending time with a number of excellent candidates for the quartet. We are now in the final stage of that process and look forward to welcoming Josh’s permanent successor later this fall.

We remain deeply committed to the artistic vision of the Isidore String Quartet and to the music-making at the heart of our work. Thank you to our presenters, colleagues, friends, and audiences for your continued support as we move through this transition.

On September 27, audience favorite Jeremy Denk joins the award-winning Isidore String Quartet for an evening of chamber music masterworks.

Many of you will remember the Isidore Quartet's thrilling FCM debut in 2023. Now they're back, joining one of today's most celebrated pianists for two spectacular piano quintets: Schumann's exuberant Op. 44 and Brahms's powerful Op. 34.
