Originally organized in 1891 as The Simcoe County Pioneer and Historical Society, we have undergone several name changes. In 1971, we reorganized to become Simcoe County Historical Association. We have always operated under the Charter of the Ontario Historical Society.

🚨We are excited to present our next free speaker event!
SCHA presents the beauty and stories behind Canada's 22 World Heritage Sites. Lynn Holden takes you on her 40-year adventure visiting each of the sites. Lynn shares the photos and stories at a special session at the Innisfil Masonic Hall in Stroud on September 12th, 2026.
The Minerva Lodge No. 304 was instituted in 1873. The Masonic Hall has a long and varied history with the present building being erected in 1923. A certain air of mystery surrounds the upper storey. This sacred room is a fascinating showcase of ornate chairs, masonic memorabilia, and photos of prominent past members. Still an active lodge, one can only imagine the unique ceremonies held during the nearly 160 years of its existence. Long time mason, Bill Spring will be on hand to walk and talk with curious folks both before and after Lynn Holden's talk.
