🦆 The 4th Annual Women’s Mentored Waterfowl Hunt is coming up! 🦆
The Delta Waterfowl – Simcoe County Chapter, in collaboratoin with Autumn Skies Outfitters, is proud to once again be hosting our annual Women’s Mentored Waterfowl Hunt, an event specifically designed for women who are new to waterfowl hunting and interested in learning more about the sport.
This is a great opportunity to get out in the field, learn the fundamentals of waterfowl hunting from experienced mentors, and experience your first hunt in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.
Our goal is simple: introduce new women hunters to waterfowling, share the knowledge and traditions of the sport, provide a first-class hunting experience and hopefully create some lifelong hunters along the way.

Mandatory Safety Orientation: Thursday, September 17th, 3:30pm - 6:30pm

I have received a few questions regarding what Delta Waterfowl Foundation is doing in response to the current issues surrounding the Prairie Pothole Region, and the attached post provides some answers.
Please take a minute and read the attached post and follow the link to the letter to better understand the issue and what Delta is doing to help protect the PPR!
Over the past two weeks, many of you have been following the discussion surrounding the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's review of drainage tile setbacks on protected wetland easements in the Prairie Pothole Region.
Thousands of duck hunters have spoken up because they care deeply about the future of these wetlands. We appreciate every hunter who has taken the time to make their voice heard.
Delta Waterfowl has been engaged from the very beginning.
Since this issue first surfaced, Delta has:
• Worked directly with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service leadership, the Department of the Interior and members of Congress.
• Helped unite 31 hunting and conservation organizations representing millions of hunters and conservationists in support of protecting wetland easements.
• Mobilized 220 Delta chapters across 44 states to demonstrate nationwide support for these critical wetlands.
• Engaged state legislative leaders through the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses.
• Submitted Delta Waterfowl's official comments into the public record.
Delta’s responsibility is to ensure that science, conservation expertise, and the voice of duck hunters are heard by the people making decisions that affect ducks and duck habitat. Throughout this process, that has remained the focus of our policy team.
It is the work Delta has done for more than a century—and it remains our commitment today.
Delta Waterfowl CEO Jason Tharpe has prepared a message explaining the issue, why these easements matter to duck hunters, what Delta has been doing on your behalf, and where the process goes from here.
We encourage you to read the complete letter.

Thank you to every hunter who has stood up for prairie wetlands. Protecting ducks takes all of us, and Delta is proud to stand alongside the hunters, chapters, and conservation organizations working toward that shared goal.

Sponsor tables are going quick! We've only got a couple left. If you've been thinking about grabbing one and taking home a beautiful Corkam Canvasback decoy, now's the time.
Single tickets and Chairman's Packages are still available too.
Money raised at this event stays right here in Simcoe County. Over the years, your support has helped us put money back into our community through local conservation, youth programs, veterans, and other projects that make a difference. The photos below are just a few examples of where those dollars have gone.
We couldn't do what we do without the support of our sponsors, members, volunteers, and everyone who buys a ticket.
We hope to see you at Tangle Creek Golf Club on August 21!

Strong hatches start with strong habitat.
Every shallow wetland, every stretch of nesting cover, every ounce of moisture on the landscape plays a role in producing the next generation of ducks.
When hens have the right conditions, they can nest successfully, raise healthy broods, and keep populations strong for seasons to come.
