Celebrating Community Leadership: Congratulations, Alison!

We’re excited to share that our Treasurer, Alison Jacks, has announced her candidacy for Municipal Council in the Town of Innisfil.

Alison has called Innisfil home for 14 years, building deep connections within the community, while raising her family and running her own bookkeeping consulting business. Her professional experience spans accounting, finance, budgeting, human resources and
management, including work with businesses, corporations and nonprofit organizations.

Community involvement has always been important to Alison. She currently serves as Zone Chair for Lions District A-12 and served as President of the Innisfil Lions Club for the past four years. She is also a proud member of the Rotary Club of Innisfil and has served on the Board of Barrie & District Christmas Cheer for more than 10 years, helping support families in need throughout the community. She also served as a committee member for Mayor’s
Annual Barn Burner Charity Hockey Game.

Alison brings that same spirit of collaboration and community-minded leadership to her role as Treasurer for Making Change. She has provided her expertise to several community
organizations, including Barrie & District Christmas Cheer, the Innisfil Lions Club, and the Tottenham & District Community Recreation Improvement Committee.

Her contributions to Making Change and all the many groups she has worked with show her commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community. We are excited to see where this next chapter takes her.

Don’t miss out on our end-of-summer Black Coffee event Saturday, September 12th, at the Sheffield Black History & Cultural Museum (just north/west of Collingwood), at 241 Clark St, Clarksburg, ON.

We are providing drinks for a donation for our upcoming 2027 programs serving Black communities throughout Simcoe County.

We'll have creative hot, cold, decaf, and other beverages to suit everyone, rain or shine.
