A recent study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that ultraviolet B phototherapy does not increase the risk of skin cancer among patients with atopic dermatitis. The results showed that neither UV-B phototherapy nor the number of UV-B phototherapy sessions was associated with an increased risk of skin cancers among patients with AD. If you have atopic dermatitis, this is great news! Phototherapy is a safe and effective treatment option for many people with this condition.
