Participants experiencing non-apparent disabilities describe ongoing uncertainty around whether to disclose a disability to an employer. Disclosure decisions are shaped by fear of bias, lack of safe spaces, and unclear benefits. π§
Major employment barriers faced by persons experiencing disability include stigma, lack of knowledge about disability, and rigid workplace policies, according to recent research conducted by CASE and the Centre for Community Based Research.
