Time to stock the wood and get Smith Cabin prepped for another sled season! And of course, we will have our first meeting of the season right after we eat lunch.
Weโve got one log splitter, but if anyone has another one theyโd be willing to bring, please let us know. The more splitting power we have, the quicker we can get โer done! ๐ช

The last long weekend of summer is officially overโฆ which means we can finally stop pretending we care about summer. โ๏ธ๐
Sledding is now on our minds every single day.
Who are we kidding. Itโs been on our minds all year.
Weโve just been killing time, spending money on sled parts and staring at the mountains waiting for everything to die and freeze again. ๐ซ
Bring on the snow. Our bank accounts are already emotionally prepared.

Effective tomorrow, Friday August 28, at noon PDT the Off Road Vehicle (ORV) prohibition is rescinded in the Southeast, Cariboo, Coastal and Kamloops Fire Centres.
We recognize that ORVs play an important role in recreation, hunting and accessing the outdoors for many. Restrictions are only considered when multiple factors indicate an elevated wildfire risk, heightened wildfire activity and limited capacity to respond to new fire starts.
With improving conditions in some regions of B.C., and cooler wetter weather in the forecast we are now able to rescind these prohibitions. We continue to monitor wildfire risk and prohibitions may be implemented or rescinded as conditions change.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation shown by ORV users during this period. We know many riders take fire prevention seriously and recreate responsibly on established roads and trails. If you're returning to the backcountry, we ask for your support in reporting any new wildfires through our app or by calling *5555.

โข Operations are ongoing
โข The Area Restriction remains in effect
๐ฅTower Creek Fire - west of St. Mary Lake
โข BEING HELD and is not expected to grow further beyond the pre-determined boundary or control lines
โข It remains an active wildfire and crews will continue to be on it
๐ฅCalamity Creek Wildfire - 40km northwest of Kimberley
โข Is now classified as BEING HELD and is not expected to grow beyond current control lines or boundaries
โข It remains an active fire and is being regularly monitored
โข Area Restriction in effect
There are no other significant changes to report on any of the other fires in the region. As always, the most up to date info on fires can be found on www.bcwildfire.ca
