Welcome! I’m Merla. I share healthy, low-toxin living through real food recipes, simple wellness tips, natural products, and everyday things I use and love.

Follow along for flavourful meals, easy wellness swaps & simple inspiration. 💚 Welcome to my page! My name is Merla Kreuger. I am semi- retired living in Brandon, a smaller city in Manitoba. My husband, Kent and I have a blended family of 5 sons, 3 daughter in laws and 4 beautiful grandchildren. We are empty nesters. We are passionate about cabin and lake life, love our family to bits and want to enjoy every minute with them. After high school, I worked as a dental assistant and receptionist for many years. I upgraded some of my skills at a Community College during that time. I also was a receptionist in a Chiropractic office for 8 years following that. In about 2004, I landed an office manager position in a Periodontal office. This was a new challenge for me. I value everything I learned in those years raising my two sons on my own. Going through a difficult personal journey for several years brought me to a place where I needed to make some changes in my path. One of the mottos I have aspired to over the years has been, Live, Laugh Love 🥰 So, consequently, when I reached my 50's, I decided I needed to do just that in a more fulfilling way! So, I left my office career and started my own home based business doing odd jobs for seniors and also, learned how to digitize videos from older formats for many customers. It was all so fulfilling. I never dreamed that I would one day be an entrepreneur but I took the plunge. I was determined that I would have more freedom to travel, and do the many things I wanted to. In 2019, I joined a company that specializes in quality and organic food options such as organic spices, extracts, meal packets and also quality bakeware. They have a line of natural personal products and pain remedies as well. I want to share with others how to use these options and the many benefits. I am not an expert by any means. There is also a save and earn component to the company. Please reach out to me and I would love for you to follow my page and share with others if you have an interest in learning more along with me. A few people asked for the recipe for my Egg Flights… and the truth is, there really isn’t just one recipe 😄 That’s the fun of it!

Think of them as your own little protein snack board on an egg.

A few tasty ideas:

🥚 Caprese Egg Flight
Mozzarella wedge, tomato, fresh basil, balsamic glaze

🥚 Cottage Cheese Egg Flight
Cottage cheese, cherry tomato, sunflower seeds, black pepper

🥚 Charcuterie Egg Flight
Mayo, mustard, hard salami, pepperoni, cheddar, pickle

The best part? You can create your own with whatever you have in the fridge.

Quick, easy, high protein, and way more fun than a plain boiled egg.

What combo would you try first? 👀

I'll add mine in the comments ⬇️

Proof that leftovers don’t have to be boring 😄

Grabbed my leftover egg flights from the fridge and happily devoured them.

So easy to throw together, packed with protein, and perfect for a quick snack attack!

Soft boiled egg flights for the win 🙌 Same mayo + mustard base, then I got creative with toppings. Easy, filling, and honestly delicious. Who else is trying this trend?

Classic Braised Red Cabbage Method

Prep: Thinly slice 1 head of red cabbage, 1-2 onions, and 1-2 apples (peeled/cored).

Sauté: Melt 2 tbsp butter or oil in a pot; cook onions until soft.

Combine: Add cabbage, apples, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup broth, and sweetener (2-3 tbsp sugar).

Simmer: Cover and cook on low for 30-45 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.

Serve: Remove cinnamon stick, season with salt/pepper, and serve.

This dish pairs well with sausages, pork, or roasts, and its flavors often improve when reheated.
