Starting my 25 skull study grind for Janos

Straight ballpoint pen — no undo, no hiding. Just committing to every line and owning every mistake.

There’s something brutally honest about ink… it shows exactly where your understanding breaks down — structure, proportion, perspective — all laid bare. And honestly, that’s the point.

Each skull is a problem to solve. Each line is a decision.

Learning to see. Learning to simplify. Learning to build form that actually sits in space.

Messy, imperfect, but real progress.

Building Mechs From the Inside Out

Continuing my deep dive into the fundamentals of mech design — breaking everything down into boxes, cylinders, wedges, and simple volumes before committing to detail. These studies are part of the Proko course with Lenn, and it’s been eye-opening to see how believable machinery starts with nothing more than solid forms in perspective.

Instead of chasing complexity, I’m learning to engineer it. When the shapes work, the mech works — joints make sense, weight distributes properly, and the design feels like it could actually move, pivot, and fire.

It’s a grind, but every page like this sharpens the eye and hand. More shapes, more structure, more mechs on the way.
