📍 Naples, Italy
🛡️ Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples)

NATO Field School students spent the day at JFC Naples, receiving briefings on the command’s role in maintaining readiness across its area of responsibility. Students explored topics ranging from strategic communications and cognitive warfare to security developments in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Sahel.

The NFS was also honoured to receive a plaque from LtGen Peter K. Scott that recognized the ongoing work of the NFS in educating and equipping to become the future leaders in defence and security policy.

📍 Darmstadt, Germany 
🚀 European Space Operations Centre (ESOC)

NATO Field School students spent the day at ESA’s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), where they explored how missions are planned, launched, and managed throughout their lifecycle. Discussions highlighted the importance of cooperation, the growing value of data, and the precision required to operate spacecraft in some of the most challenging environments imaginable. The visit concluded with a tour of the facility, including the Control Room and Interplanetary Missions Unit.

📍 Riga, Latvia 
🏛️ Latvian War Museum

NATO Field School students visited the Latvian War Museum for briefings on Latvia’s defence priorities from the Latvian Ministry of Defence and on emerging military technologies, including autonomous systems, from the Autonomous Systems Competence Centre. The day also included guided tours of the War Museum and former KGB headquarters, providing additional context on Latvia’s security environment and national defence outlook.

🛡️ NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU)

NATO Field School students spent the day at NSATU, learning about NATO’s role in coordinating security assistance and training for Ukraine. Briefings explored the mission’s work across training, force development, logistics, equipment coordination, and operational analysis, offering insight into the challenges of sustaining military support during a prolonged conflict. Students also examined the changing character of the war and the complexities of translating strategic objectives into practical military support. The visit concluded with a tour of the NSATU operations hub.

🎓 University of Latvia

NATO Field School students began the day with a briefing on Task Force Latvia and its operational role within Multinational Brigade Latvia before breaking into smaller groups for roundtable discussions with TFL staff and other personnel from across the brigade. Conversations spanned topics ranging from intelligence and training to public affairs, legal affairs, logistics, and operations, offering students a comprehensive look at how a multinational military mission functions in practice. A recurring theme throughout the day was the importance of military readiness and credible deterrence to NATO’s strategic interests.
