This week at Bidell Gas Compression Ltd , we’re highlighting some excellent work from our Spooling Department.

Featured are 10” Schedule 40 and 8” Standard stainless steel joints, welded using a MIG root with 308L wire, then filled and capped with 308L stainless steel flux-cored wire. The result is strong, high-quality welds built to meet the demands of the job while maintaining the integrity required for stainless steel applications.

The strength of our work comes from the strength of our team. Behind every weld that leaves our shop are skilled professionals who take pride in their craft and are dedicated to delivering exceptional results. We're grateful for the expertise and hard work they bring to every project.

This past Saturday, we welcomed a sold-out field of golfers for a fantastic day on the course. With plenty of sunshine, it was the ideal backdrop for a day filled with friendly competition, meaningful connections, and memorable moments.

A special thank you goes out to our sponsors. Your generous support played a vital role in making this event such a success, and we are grateful for your partnership and commitment to our organization. Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without you.

This year, we were also proud to raise funds for the Veterans Food Bank. We were truly humbled by the generosity of everyone who participated. The support shown throughout the day was incredible, and every contribution will help make a meaningful difference for veterans in our community. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support such an important cause.

We’d also like to thank everyone who participated, volunteered, and worked behind the scenes to ensure the day ran seamlessly. Your enthusiasm and support helped create an atmosphere that made the tournament truly special.

While a few golf balls may have found their way into the rough, the day itself was definitely above par. More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect, build relationships, and enjoy a great day on the course together.

This week we're highlighting the Sub Arc welds on one of the largest vessels we've built to date.

Projects of this scale require careful planning and ex*****on. The vessel was first prepared with a root pass and hot pass to establish a solid foundation before being completed using the Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) process.

Over the course of a couple of days, our team worked through these extensive welds, producing the consistency, pe*******on, and quality that Sub Arc welding is known for. It's always impressive to watch a project of this size come together and see the craftsmanship that goes into every weld.

Another impressive piece of work from the Bidell Gas Compression Ltd shop floor and a great example of the skill and attention to detail that go into every vessel we build.

Kicking off our first Welding Wednesdays, is some recent vessel connection work for a customer project.

These studded outlet fl**ge connections and fl**ge connections feature a 2” thick repad , something that isn’t very common in vessel fabrication and not something Bidell does often. Projects like this bring unique challenges and highlight the precision, fit-up, and weld quality our team brings to every job.

Proud of the craftsmanship that goes into work like this and excited to share more welds from the shop each week.

And while Bidell’s had you for 20 years, we all know your cats are your real bosses. Between work and home, you’ve earned a solid reputation as a top-tier cat dad, ,and yes, the Chewbacca comparisons still stand. Between you and your brother, that legendary level of “fur coverage” is clearly a family trait.

After 20 years, your perspective remains simple: there’s always more to learn and always room to improve. That’s what keeps you growing, and what makes your contributions continue to matter.

Retirement is not the end of the road, it’s the beginning of a new adventure!

With both gratitude and a little sadness, we announce Sandra Kivlehan’s retirement as she heads into an exciting new chapter.

After more than 30 years in the oil and gas industry, Sandra celebrates her final days at Bidell Gas Compression Ltd surrounded by the team she’s been such an important part of. Throughout her time here, she’s been known for her dedication, reliability, and genuine kindness. Whether it was getting the job done right or being there for others, Sandra could always be counted on, as both a valued colleague and a trusted friend.

From her love of leopard print to her lighthearted office pranks, Sandra brought joy, laughter, and warmth to our workplace every single day. It’s no surprise that she says it’s the people here who made this chapter so special, and so hard to say goodbye to.

As her teammate Isabel shared, the team wishes Sandra a retirement filled with the same ease, warmth, and positivity she brought into every day at work. They reflect on how she always kept things running seamlessly, approaching every challenge with calm confidence and a smile that lifted those around her. With genuine appreciation and a touch of sadness at saying goodbye, they hope she enjoys every moment of this well-earned next chapter, one that’s as bright and fulfilling as the impact she’s left behind. Her impact will be felt for years to come, and as her boss said, she leaves behind some very big shoes to fill.

While we’ll miss her dearly, we’re so excited for Sandra as she trades in screen time for lake life in Ontario, filled with peaceful views, fishing, and mornings without alarm clocks.
