Is limited midback mobility contributing to your shoulder pain? đïž
If your mid-back isnât moving efficiently, it can lead to a compensation pattern in which your shoulder has to move more.
Temporarily, this might be okay, but over time, it can lead to overload and shoulder pain.
Which is why it is important to not only evaluate and treat the shoulder but also the mid-back. đ
Whether you are experiencing shoulder pain while playing baseball or pickleball or when reaching overhead, we are here to help!

Your low back feels tight⊠but that doesnât always mean your low back is the problem.
Sometimes the hips, pelvis, or thoracic spine arenât moving as well as they should, which can leave your low back doing more work to make up for it.
That extra workload can create the feeling of tension, stiffness, or tightness in your low back.
So instead of only asking, âHow do I loosen my low back?â
It can be worth asking, âWhy is my low back working so hard in the first place?â
Thatâs why we look at how the whole body is moving rather than just treating the spot that hurts.
If your low back always feels tight, DM us or click the link in our bio to book an assessment.

Is a stiff SI joint secretly straining your hips? đŠŽ
Your sacroiliac (SI) joint connects the base of your spine to your pelvis. Itâs built to absorb shock and allow subtle, crucial movement.
When one joint stops moving properly, neighboring joints pay the price! A recent study found that fusing the SI joint increased the risk of needing a hip replacement because the hips had to absorb all the extra mechanical load.
Even if you aren't facing joint surgery, keeping your pelvis and spine moving properly is essential for healthy aging and protecting your surrounding joints. đȘ

What is proprioception? đ€
Think of it as your bodyâs internal GPS. It tells your brain exactly what your joints and muscles are doing at any moment.
For people dealing with neck and jaw pain, the signal often weakens. Itâs like driving with bad cell reception. Your brain isnât receiving clear positioning data, which can lead to pain, tightness, and compensation patterns.
The good news is that chiropractic adjustments can help restore proprioception in the muscles and joints. This helps restore normal function and reduce pain. đĄ

Think you donât have time to exercise? Think smaller! â±ïžđȘ
âExercise snacksâ are short bursts of movement you can fit into your day, whether itâs a quick walk, a few squats, or some stretching between tasks.
Even small amounts of activity can add up toward the recommended 150 minutes of exercise per week and provide meaningful benefits for your heart, muscles, and overall health.
The goal isnât perfection. Itâs finding simple ways to move more throughout your day. đ

Your ankle pain is gone, but does it still feel wobbly? đж
A lot of times, people measure their injury by their pain level. Once the pain is gone, the injury is healed. However, that doesnât mean that the function has been restored.
After an ankle sprain, it is common to feel that the ankle is unstable when returning to normal activities. This is why strengthening and balance exercises are so important, not only for returning to activities but also for preventing another ankle sprain. đȘ
So if you sprained your ankle, make an appointment for an evaluation to determine which exercises you should do.

Could your workday back pain be about more than your desk setup? đ»
We often blame our office chair or monitor height, but research shows that lifestyle factors like sleep and alcohol intake may also play a role in work-related low back pain.
The bigger picture, including sleep, stress, nutrition, and ergonomics, influences your back health. Getting enough rest can help your body better handle the physical demands of the day.
If back pain is making your workday harder, contact our office today to schedule an evaluation!

Earlier this year, I stopped squatting because my low back would be sore for days afterward.
The funny part? I used to squat 400 lbs without any pain.
But once I stopped squatting, I also stopped exposing my body to that specific movement and load. Over time, my capacity for it decreased.
So rather than forcing myself back into regular squats and hoping for the best, I found a variation I could actually tolerate: Zercher squats.
They didnât bother my low back, which gave me a way to keep training the squat pattern while gradually rebuilding my capacity.
Iâm still working my way back to regular squats, but this has been a good reminder that sometimes the answer isnât simply:
âStop doing what hurts.â
Sometimes itâs:
âFind a version you can tolerate, then build from there.â
If youâre avoiding movements because they hurt, that doesnât necessarily mean you need to give them up forever. Understanding why they bother you and finding the right starting point can make a big difference.
If you want help figuring out whatâs contributing to your pain and how to build back into the things you want to do, DM us or click the link in our bio to book an assessment.
