September is Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month. So let’s talk about something that doesn’t get talked about enough: bereaved siblings are twice as likely to attempt su***de.

Losing a sibling can bring a kind of grief that is difficult to put into words and even harder to navigate.

If you know someone who has lost a sibling, check in on them. Not just in the days and weeks after their loss, but months and years later too. Grief doesn’t have an expiration date, and neither should our support.

Ask how they’re doing. Listen without trying to fix it. Keep showing up. You never know when someone might need to hear that they aren’t alone. ❤️

If you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts, you’re not alone. Please reach out for support. In Canada, call or text 9-8-8 anytime, 24/7, for free and confidential su***de crisis support.

Grief is strange. It changes you in ways you never expected, creating a version of yourself that could only exist because of the person you lost.

You learn to carry the love, the memories, the anger, the sadness, and the life that has to keep moving forward, all at the same time.

We may never get to go back to who we were before loss, but we can carry the people we love with us in everything we do❤️

Enjoy the Labour Day long weekend, relax with family and friends, and most importantly, make sure everyone gets home safely. Plan ahead, and don’t drive impaired!

The Calgary Police Service performed three routine traffic stops on August 19th, 2026, for minor infractions, and in just one evening, that led to multiple impaired drivers being taken off the road.

Sometimes you might not know who is driving impaired beside you until it’s too late. That’s why every impaired driver caught before they hurt someone matters.

Drive sober. Plan ahead. Get home safe.

Some sobering stats that should make you think twice about getting behind the wheel after drinking or taking drugs.

If you’ve ever been the DD on a night out, did the bar or restaurant comp your pop? If they did, drop the bar or restaurant’s name in the comments!

Being the designated driver means making the choice to keep your friends, yourself, and our roads safe. We think that choice deserves recognition ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to WILD 953 - Calgary's Hit Country, Pattison Media, Craig Halford, and Jace Borden for helping us honour Macy and Ethan’s memory in such a meaningful way ❤️

Through the WILD Co****le Tournament, Craig and Jace’s team chose MADD Calgary & Area as the recipient of a $500 donation in honour of Macy and Ethan, allowing us to help recognize the incredibly important work MADD does.

We are especially thankful for the support MADD provides to families like Macy and Ethan’s, who have been brutally impacted by the actions of impaired drivers. Their compassion and advocacy mean so much to families navigating unimaginable loss.

Thank you to WILD 95.3, Craig, and Jace for making this donation possible and for giving us the opportunity to help recognize MADD’s important work while continuing to honour Macy and Ethan’s legacy.

Together, we can keep their memories alive through action, awareness, and a commitment to ending impaired driving. Thank you for standing with us and getting loud in the fight against impaired driving.

The August long weekend is here! ☀️🌊

Whether you’re heading to the lake, camping, enjoying a backyard BBQ, or spending time with friends and family, make a plan to get home safely before the fun begins.

If alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs are part of your weekend plans, don’t get behind the wheel. Choose a designated driver, call a rideshare or taxi, or take transit.

Have a safe, fun, and memorable long weekend ❤️
