$1 billion reasons to keep running. This week, Tanbridge hosted their annual Terry Fox run and it was an extra special event. We were so honoured to welcome Fred Fox, Terry’s brother, who shared Terry’s story with us firsthand—the courage, determination, and incredible person behind the Canadian hero we all know.

Our community has now raised an incredible $32,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation over the years. And this year, our students nearly DOUBLED our $4,000 goal! 🙌

Which meant one thing… Mr. Lappin and Ms. Choy had to take the plunge! 🥶💦

After hearing Fred’s inspiring stories (and watching our brave admins get VERY cold!), our entire school came together for our annual Terry Fox Run.

A powerful reminder that one person, one idea, and a whole lot of courage can create an extraordinary legacy. ❤️

A little bit of “This or That” is happening during homeroom time and it’s been a great way to start conversations and get to know a little more about students and teachers! How do you cut your sandwich?

Over the last few weeks, our grade ones have been constructing maps about their favourite landmarks in Alberta! Through stories, writing, and drawing student have learned about the natural and man-made landmarks we see and love in our province.

Little lines and BIG learning. September is all about building literacy foundations in our JK & Kindergarten classrooms!
Writing lines, learning names, exploring letters & sounds. And falling in love with the magic of books. Every little scribble, sound and story is one more step toward becoming a reader and writer.

Our school was filled with creativity and colour as we celebrated International Dot Day!

Inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, students were encouraged to make their mark, take creative risks, and see where their imagination could take them.

Throughout the day, classes created their own dot-inspired artwork, and many students and staff joined in the fun by dressing in polka dots!

TANBRIDGE HISTORY MADE!
What a weekend for Tanbridge alum Cooper Williams!
After being selected 158th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in this year’s NHL Draft, Cooper hit the ice in Gatineau this weekend for his first NHL Prospects games, facing off against prospects from the Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators.
And with that, Cooper officially became the FIRST Tanbridge Academy student to be drafted into the NHL!
