Tired of sifting through the sea of dog training advice? Look no further!
How long do you use the e-collar after training?
Longer than people assume, and here’s why…Any tool only works when you use it consistently. We’re building habits, and habits hold because you keep reinforcing them (positive or negative reinforcement)
I want your dog to have a big world. Trails, new places, adventures you can jump at without worrying about your dog. A big world’s an unpredictable one, and the collar’s the backup that lets you navigate it with confidence.
If you’re building toward off-leash freedom with your dog, comment Kibbles and let’s chat!
Right now the fitness industry is at war over bananas. The finding came from one study: blending bananas with flavanol-rich fruit lowers how much of those flavanols you absorb.
Within a week the internet turned one of the most accessible sources of potassium and fibre on the planet, into a villain.
And if you’ve been in dog training for more than five minutes, you already know where this is going. We do this with e-collars. We do it with prong collars, with harnesses, with slip leads, with every tool that exists. One study, one bad experience, one clip of someone using a tool poorly, and suddenly the tool itself is evil and anyone who touches it is too.
All-or-nothing is comfortable because as a species, we love rules. But saying “never use e-collars” is a lot like saying “don’t put bananas in your smoothies”.
Now, don’t you feel silly?

Not all exercise is equal. Freedom to run off-leash, hunt scent, and move naturally matters. Parks for Pets offers intentional outdoor time in nature, secure, private, and built for enriching our companion(s)!

The couch isn’t usually the problem. A dog who takes it, guards it, and won’t get off when asked is the problem. That is what we fix, and the cuddles and affection are welcome when we have the right mindset.

A calm dog isn’t necessarily a tired dog.
“He just won’t settle. He paces the house and follows me everywhere.”
I hear this constantly. And the advice you’ve probably been handed is to wear him out. More neighborhood walks. More fetch.
Please stop.
A tired dog is not necessarily a calm dog. A tired dog sleeps for an hour and wakes up with the exact same wiring that had him pacing in the first place.
Your dog’s not pacing because he has too much energy. He’s pacing because he’s never learned how to relax.
Calm is not a mood your dog falls into once he’s finally exhausted. It’s a state of mind. And a state of mind can be nurtured.
In a board and train, we don’t tire your dog into stillness. We teach him the skill of settling. Holding a relaxed state while things are moving around him. We cultivate this mindset until it becomes a default.
Which brings up the real question. Will it transfer home?
Yes. Because he comes home with a new default. You maintain the structure, and the default is maintained. And, you finally get your evenings back. He lies down while you cook. He stops patroling the windows and terrorizing the cat.
If your dog paces the house and never truly settles, DM me Kibbles to chat!

Not enough of this creates a dog that struggles with day to day things like nail trims, settling, and peaceful walks...

Public dog parks are chaos masquerading as socialization. If you want safety, freedom, real enrichment, and space to actually walk your dog, book a private park and leave the chaos (and the 💩) behind.

You can buy every puzzle toy, snuffle mat, and lick mat on the market.
Or you can let your dog be a dog.
Water. Mud. Sticks. Smells you’ll never understand. This is enrichment in its rawest, most instinct-driven form, and it’s available every time you walk out your back door.
Enrichment isn’t a product to bought. It happens outside, off-leash, in the moment.

This sleepy, settled puppy didn’t happen by accident.
Puppies don’t need intensive training. They need a foundation, and that foundation is built through routine, structure, and meeting every need before training skills.
At CDT, we don’t put puppies into Board and Train. Instead, we built PAWS l; a framework for raising a dog who is genuinely healthy, confident, and connected from the start.
Here’s what that actually looks like:
Health — Sleep, nutrition, and a nervous system that isn’t constantly overstimulated.
Communication — Puppies don’t know how to communicate with us. We need to teach them how.
Exercise — The right kind, at the right intensity, for their developmental stage. More exercise does not equal a calmer dog. It often builds the opposite, and results in a puppy who doesn’t know how to settle.
Enrichment — Sniffing, exploring, problem solving, and mental work that satisfies the dog they were bred to be. Hint: this doesn’t come from a plastic toy.
Structure — Predictability is safety and routine that supports your puppy understanding time and place.
Management — You can’t train a puppy 24/7. Management fills the gaps and prevents the patterns you don’t want to have to undo later.
Training — Yes, training new skills matters. But it works best when everything above is already in place.
This is the work we do together in PAWS, not away from home, but with you, building skills that stick because your dog’s whole life supports them.
