This season, the Jr. Huskies stepped into PEBL carrying the standard of one of Canada’s premier basketball programs. Guided by back-to-back national champions and leaders who know what it takes to reach the top, these athletes experienced something special.

Championships create memories.
Communities create legacies.

Watching this group compete, learn, and grow reminded us that Saskatchewan basketball isn’t just building great players.

It’s building the next generation of leaders.

And we have a feeling the story of the Jr. Huskies is only getting started.

The Jr. Cougars are proof that tradition doesn’t stand still. It grows.

One of the things we love most about PEBL is watching the next generation learn from those who came before them. Built through the University of Regina pathway, this program is guided by coaches and mentors who continue to shape basketball in Saskatchewan both on and off the court.

Over four sessions, we watched this group compete, learn, and proudly represent Regina. Every weekend brought new challenges, new rivalries, and new opportunities to grow.

That’s what makes PEBL special.

It’s not just about preparing athletes for the next level. It’s about building a culture where experience is shared, opportunities are created, and the game continues to move forward.

One of the things we love most about this league is watching athletes from across Western Canada come together and represent something bigger than themselves.

The Jr. Wesmen are a perfect example.

Built through the University of Winnipeg pathway, this group represents the future of Manitoba basketball a team of talented young athletes developing under experienced mentors and competing against some of the best in the West.

But that’s what PEBL is all about.

Different clubs. Different communities. One jersey. One goal.

As media, we get a front row seat to watch these athletes grow in confidence, build friendships, and prepare for the next level, whether that’s U SPORTS, college, or wherever the game takes them.

Western Canadian basketball is in good hands.

In just four sessions and eight days of basketball, thousands of new eyes have discovered the talent that exists in Western Canada.

A huge congratulations to the 2026 PEBL Champions, the MRU Junior Cougars! Both the U15 and U17 programs completed undefeated seasons and capped off an incredible year with championship performances.
