It's been a great start out in Lakewood of Strathmore with 7 homes sold!

And, we'll building the 8th soon as it will be our new show home 🏠.

I love it when goals are made and broken. Our sales and marketing began mid-September of 2024 with ambition and humility. And now, we are redefining our goals for 2025 with much bigger aspirations to crush our initial targets.

Thank you to our clients for trusting us with their home builds. We are looking forward to delivering on our promise to you 🙏

Let's go 2025!

How Do You Decide What to Keep and Garbage When Clearing the Clutter? đŸ€”
——————————————————————————————————
It’s the most difficult decision!

You have a house full of things. But that definitely does not mean it’s all junk.

There are plenty of valuable items that you’ve amassed over the years as you’ve grown with your family.

Some of those trinkets that might have low monetary value could have massive sentimental value to you.

The challenge is
how do you make the decision on which items to get rid of?

If you’re going to be downsizing, then you’ll likely have no choice but to trim down your collectibles. Sure, you could rent a storage unit for all your goodies but if those items are just going to sit in a dark storage unit for months, even years on end, why keep them?

I say this with great care as I know some of these items are hard to part with but in order to move on with the new life you really want, some of these goods
they’ve gotta go.

I’m no Marie Kondo that’s for sure.

But if I were, she would likely have you look at the item, even hold it, and ask yourself if that item sparks joy.

And if the answer is no, you might want to send it to the rubbish bin.

For me, this is the most important question and the only question that I’m going to get into here. Does that item really add value to your life? Does it spark joy?

Sometimes letting go can be the hardest part but there can also be a sort of liberation when it comes to decluttering. Relieving yourself from things of the past can open the door to accepting others in the future.

It’s not going to be easy. But it’s likely going to be necessary.

Free Home Valuations?
————————————
I don’t get this marketing đŸ€”

Why do agents still pitch “free home valuations” like it’s of some great value and special service to a prospective client?

When was the last time someone paid for this service? The dinosaurs may still have been roaming the planet 🩕

To me, doing a free home valuation is just the cost of doing business in 2024. There are other ways that agents can add value to you, the client.

Speak with them and see what their process is to sell you home. Are they a good fit personality wise? Are they knowledgeable about the market?

If an agent is luring you in via a “free home valuation”, they may still be living in the Jurassic Period.

My biggest fear
AND it’s Easily Conquered 😹
—--------------------------------------------
I may have posted about this in the past.

It’s my biggest fear. Regret.

Not about past regrets. Those are in the past, and there is nothing I can do about them.

Carpe diem as the saying goes. And I love that. Seize the day as it’s all that you really have.

And while I’m busy adding to my bucket list, I try and remember to embrace the moment that is right in front of me. The now is not only the moment that exists.

It’s easy to get caught up in the future only to forget about what is right in front of you.

I don’t want to regret that I missed living in the moment while pursuing of the future.

Everything is Energy âšĄïž

I sometimes forget this until I become consciously aware of it.

Think back to moments when you’ve felt the electric buzz of a hockey stadium during a playoff game, where the collective energy of fans uplifts your spirit and alters your very chemistry.

On the flip side, we’ve all walked into spaces with heavy, draining energy.

You can feel it when you sense your boss’s mood or feel the vibe in a conversation with your spouse. Even within ourselves, we can detect shifts in energy.

So how do we shift our energy to better align with our aspirations?

No one likes to feel sad, depressed, angry, or frustrated. These emotions all shift our energy into a negative energy spiral.

And if everything is energy, can we harness the power of our minds to steer our energy towards positivity? Many more enlightened people than I, say yes!

And the path to shifting this energy is in meditation. To quiet the mind and engage is self awareness. It’s a transformative tool I’ve explored for years now.

It’s not easy, diving into the stillness of our minds. Listening to our thoughts without judgement. It can be a busy space inside.

In today’s world, littered with constant distractions, this practice could be more vital than ever. The noise around us drowns out our inner voice.

A voice that will instruct us on our current energy and what shape it may have in our on day-to-day reality.

This stuff can get pretty heady. Quantum physics heady, and into a mind-bending realm.

But if the energy we emit constructs our reality, it’s crucial to monitor the vibration we send ourselves and each other.

A chance encounter led me to my wife? 💍
—————————————————————
Wow, this is a long story!

But let me see if I can condense it.

It was playoff hockey time. Seemingly the last time the Flames were in the playoffs. So you get how long ago that was đŸ€Ł! A bit of an exaggeration I suppose.

I was at a buddies house, and got introduced to a whole host of people. Including my future wife.

It was a brief introduction. I don’t think we said anything more than hi.

Fast forward a few weeks and my buddy and I were off to the Metropolitan Grill. Seems they were having a tequila-tasting event, and it sounded like it could be fun.

Up the stairs we walked, and who was there
Renée!

Turns out the Metropolitan Grill was her client from her Radio sales days. She was there to support them and the event.

As I surveyed the surroundings I noticed a giant margarita glass with about 5 straws in it. Allegedly, she was sharing this with a few friends.

We got chatting
sipped some tequila
and chatted some more.

And then
I was on the dance floor
but, not with RenĂ©e! đŸ€”

Turns out I was coerced, not so coerced by another female. Not my fault, I promise!

Anyway, the night was over and we all parted ways for several more weeks.

Fast forward to July. And the Calgary Stampede.

It was time to head to Fort Calgary for some music and debauchery. With the same friends of course.

And wouldn’t you know it. As we walked across a grassy field towards our final party zone, who was walking towards me, RenĂ©e and her friends. What!? Seriously, what a coincidence.

Well, my posse and I weren’t going to spend all night at the Fort. And RenĂ©e’s bevy was headed in the opposite direction.

It was now or never so I asked her for her phone number and said
”Me and the boys are heading down to 17th Ave a bit later. I’ll call you and let you know. Maybe we can all meet up later?”

And so, the boys and I did our time at the Fort, grabbed a taxi, and landed down at 17th Ave. I reached for my phone to call RenĂ©e. “What? Where’s my phone?”

Turns out it was on the seat of the taxi that was now driving away
F*$ #!

And that was the end of that 😞

A few more weeks go by and I’m out for lunch with that same buddy. I’m reminiscing about my lost phone and RenĂ©e’s lost number. And then he says
”Wait, I think I remember it. The first three numbers are my old house number. And the last numbers
my two favourite hockey players
yeah, it’s the numbers on their jerseys!”

And here I am, thinking to myself, that while this guy is my friend, he’s full of đŸ’©.

And to prove it, I called it.

“Hello, is this RenĂ©e?”

“Yes, it is.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Wow, what a testimonial!

And it was an equal pleasure working with you. 🙏

“What truly impressed us about RenĂ©e was her commitment to going above and beyond for her clients. She was always available to answer our questions, address our concerns, and guide us through every step of the home-buying and selling process. Her patience and positivity made what could have been a stressful experience feel seamless and enjoyable.

Renée's negotiation skills are second to none. She advocated for us tirelessly, ensuring that we got the best possible deal on our homes. Her attention to detail and strategic approach helped us secure a great price, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

In addition to her professional excellence, Renée is a pleasure to work with on a personal level. Her warm demeanour and genuine care for her clients make her a true standout in her field. We felt supported and valued throughout our entire journey, and we are so grateful to have had Renée by our side.

I wholeheartedly recommend RenĂ©e to anyone in need of a top-notch realtor. Her expertise, dedication, and exceptional service make her the best in the business. Thank you, RenĂ©e, for helping us find our forever homes!”

My Best Vacation as a Kid 🌮
———————————————
I was 8 years old. I still remember it vividly.

We were going to Hawaii!

I mean, what kid didn’t dream of going to an exotic destination like Hawaii. This was 1980 remember. I’m pretty sure I had a t-shirt that said
Hawaii 1980!

I remember landing in Honolulu. It was hot and humid
and they greeted you by putting on one of those Hawaiian Leis. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven!

And the only thing I was interested in doing was spending as much time on the beach, and in the water as possible!

I’m pretty sure this was my first beach experience. If there was another one, I had quickly forgotten that experience in favour of what was right in front of me.

And it was a trip of many firsts. First beach, first snorkel, first taste of Mahi Mahi, and first time getting thrashed by a crashing on-shore wave. I was definitely extracting sand from places on my body I never even knew I had!

But I was hooked!

Those warm off-shore breezes, morning rains, sand castles, and watching the surfers on their giant surfboards.

Sure, we did some of the touristy things. And the Mai Tais
turns out my ID wasn’t valid for those.

I must have forgotten most of those “touristy things”. My memories seem to zero in on the nature side of things. It were the whales, fish, coral, and Nene (Hawaiian Goose) that left an indelible imprint on me. Oh, the surfers also.

I suppose we’re pretty impressionable at that age. And I had gone on other trips in my youth. But, this one left a mark like no other.

It was my best vacation as a kid.

Is there a vacation you can recall that left a mark on you?
