Foothills Academy Society is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Junior High Math Teacher for a 1-year maternity leave position. The successful candidate will provide engaging and meaningful mathematics instruction while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed.

What We’re Looking For:
- Alberta Teaching Certification (Required)
- Experience teaching math and experience working with students with Learning Disabilities/ADHD
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Outstanding teaching evaluations and professional references

Empowering Tomorrow’s Teachers: A Deep Dive into the ADHD Brain

Foothills Academy Outreach and the LD/ADHD Network recently hosted a packed house of University of Calgary pre-service teachers for an immersive, full-day ADHD workshop. Led by Bani and Carola alongside expert presenters Caitlin Ross, Jill Northwood, and James Burla, the session offered a deep dive into executive functioning, social-emotional needs, and classroom impacts. Participants walked away with a clearer understanding of the ADHD brain and concrete tools to support neurodivergent students in their field placements and future careers.

Our school garden just got a beautiful upgrade!

A huge thank you to The Home Depot for their generous donation of a rain barrel, bonding primer, outdoor base paint, and protective clear coat that made this project possible.

We also want to give a special thank you to our incredibly talented parent volunteer, Leanne, for sharing her artistic talents with us. She transformed the rain barrel into a stunning, one-of-a-kind mural that our Foothills Garden Club will enjoy for years to come. We are grateful to have parents who use their professional skills to enrich our ongoing school initiatives!

Taking learning beyond the classroom. Our Grade 12s headed outdoors to take a break from their desks, tackle team-building challenges, and sharpen their communication and problem-solving skills. Great job, everyone!
