I’ve had quite a few messages lately asking where I’ve been, so I wanted to check in.

The last little while has been a challenging one for my family, and my time, energy, and attention have needed to be focused there.

To add to it, I badly burned my right hand a few weeks ago and haven’t been able to pick up a crochet hook for much longer than I expected.

Knit Happens is still very much a part of me. My boys have simply needed more of me lately, and that’s where I’ve been.

Thank you for every message, check-in, and bit of kindness. It means more than you know.

It’s no secret… I’ve lost my crojo for amigurumi.

The last few years have been all about making to keep up—restocks, orders, deadlines. Somewhere in that, I stopped creating for me.
I wasn’t trying new things, wasn’t reaching for the yarn I wanted to use… and I started to resent it.

And I hated that.

This little hippo has been sitting in my office for ages.
Plain. Unfinished. Waiting.

Until yesterday.

She needed a dress.
A purse.
And a bow.

Now she finally feels complete.

And maybe that’s the point.

It’s okay to lose your crojo. It comes back—just not always on demand.
Sometimes you need space to find your way back.

So here’s your reminder (and mine):
Make what you want, when you want.

No pressure. No rush.
Just yarn… and joy again 🩷
