A few of my favourite things for a few of my very favourite people. š©·š©·
I had a small birthday get-together on Saturday, and if you know me, you know I love spoiling the people I love. So I put together these little swag bags filled with some of my current favourite finds!
š¬ Swedish candy from Swedish Candy Store | Canada | Amanda
š Car diffusers from The Dandelion Soapery - Alberta, Canada
š Lip balm from YYC Beeswax | Candles + Skincare + DIY + Workshops
š©· Wish hand sanitizer from my local neighbourhood Pharmasave
You can find all of these goodies at Main Street Market | Alberta Gift Shops šØš¦ (well⦠except the hand sanitizer š).
Nothing fancyājust a few of my go-to treats, scents, and little goodies from businesses and makers that deserve all the love.
It was so much fun sharing some of my favourite things with some of my favourite humans.
If you havenāt checked these businesses out yet, go give them a follow. Theyāre all fantastic, and Iām so happy to support them.

š BIRTHDAY MONTH SALE IS HERE! š
Turning another year older? Fine. Celebrating with Mystery Bags for $5? Now weāre talking.
Every June, I celebrate my birthday with a special sale on one Knit Happens favourite.
This year, I let Oliver pick the item⦠and apparently he understood the assignment.
Starting today and running until the end of June, Mystery Bags are just $5 each!
Inside every Mystery Bag youāll find:
⢠A small pocket crochet toy
⢠A handful of fun stickers
⢠A small 3D printed fidget animal
Honestly, theyāre packed with way more fun than $5 should probably allow.
Available while supplies last. Once theyāre gone, theyāre gone! .ca Strathmore only!!!!
And a huge thanks to Oliver for choosing this yearās Birthday Month Sale item. I think he picked a good one.
Happy Birthday Month to me!

Hey friends,
Iāve had quite a few messages lately asking where Iāve been, so I wanted to check in.
The last little while has been a challenging one for my family, and my time, energy, and attention have needed to be focused there.
To add to it, I badly burned my right hand a few weeks ago and havenāt been able to pick up a crochet hook for much longer than I expected.
Knit Happens is still very much a part of me. My boys have simply needed more of me lately, and thatās where Iāve been.
Thank you for every message, check-in, and bit of kindness. It means more than you know.
Love,
Cristinaš©·š¤
My little sidekick, #1 fan, and official product tester is officially 13 today and honestly⦠HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!
Watching Oliver grow into this amazing human has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
Funny, talented, determined, creative, and with the biggest heart ever ā I am so unbelievably proud of him.
Help me wish him a very Happy Birthday, and if youāre not already, go give him a follow over at
Now excuse me while I emotionally process the fact that I officially have a teenager

Itās no secret⦠Iāve lost my crojo for amigurumi.
The last few years have been all about making to keep upārestocks, orders, deadlines. Somewhere in that, I stopped creating for me.
I wasnāt trying new things, wasnāt reaching for the yarn I wanted to use⦠and I started to resent it.
And I hated that.
This little hippo has been sitting in my office for ages.
Plain. Unfinished. Waiting.
Until yesterday.
She needed a dress.
A purse.
And a bow.
Now she finally feels complete.
And maybe thatās the point.
Itās okay to lose your crojo. It comes backājust not always on demand.
Sometimes you need space to find your way back.
So hereās your reminder (and mine):
Make what you want, when you want.
No pressure. No rush.
Just yarn⦠and joy again š©·
I said what I said. šš»āāļø
Did some retail therapy and shopped small this very morning.
Youāre welcome.
Tagāyouāre it.
What started as a simple idea turned into something so much bigger š¤
Over the last 8 weeks, this community showed up in the most incredible way.
⨠427 12ā crochet squares
⨠Almost 30 skeins of yarn
⨠A bag full of cards + letters
Every piece was collected, tidied, blocked, vacuum sealed, and packed into boxes now on their way to BCāwhere theyāll be turned into comfort blankets for Tumbler Ridge Secondary School.
I am beyond blown away by the kindness and generosity behind every single square.
Seeing people of all ages come together for thisāeven as young as 8 years old⦠it was pure magic.
Every stitch, every donation, every helping handā
it all mattered.
Mary and the incredible women assembling these blankets are going to feel the love poured into this project. I just know it.
From the bottom of my heart⦠thank you.
You are all absolute angels š¤
This is what community looks like⦠and Iām so proud to be part of it. ā¤ļø
Went to today and you guys⦠š¤
The crochet blankets had me fully in my element.
The colors? Obsessed.
The patterns? Bringing back the best kind of nostalgia.
Safe to say I was in heaven⦠and yes, I took way too many pictures to share š
