I loveeeeeeeeeeed the mask-making workshop at Chrysalis Alberta ! Everyone did such a great job expressing themselves in their masks! Just like every one of you, each mask is unique, so beautiful, and has so much detail!

I still can’t quite believe Akemi's Song is a finalist for the Richard Allen Chase Memorial Award by the Canadian Children's Book Centre! My heart is just so full of gratitude. ❤️

Behind the piece...

"Longing, fear, uncertainty, pleading... almost like asking for permission."

When I created this piece, those were the exact words looping in my head. Slipping into doubt isn't a dead end, it's a heavy, necessary part of the journey we have to carry ourselves through.
