When hiring a contractor, hire based on value and trust - not just the lowest bid.
There's been quite a few times where clients went the cheap route first, only to have their contractor ghost them, stop responding, and they basically had to start all over with someone new. This is a very unfortunate situation.
Bringing someone into YOUR HOME can be very daunting and that's why good research is so important. Don't go with the cheapest quite, it's usually a recipe for disaster. Check out your contractor's reviews, maybe even reach out to previous clients so you can hear about their personal experience.
Make sure your contractor is LICENSED and INSURED. You want that extra protection.

We are going to get A LOT of raining the next 3 days. One of the things you can do now is put down all your downspouts away from your foundation. Help your neighbor too if you can.
