I’ve always paid attention to how people dress when I travel.

Not necessarily what they’re wearing, but how they wear it. The confidence. The combinations. The details that feel instinctive rather than considered.

There is something about being somewhere unfamiliar that makes you look more closely.

While I always come home inspired, travel has also taught me not to mistake distance for sophistication.

There is extraordinary style everywhere—including here in Calgary. Ours is a city full of people with a strong sense of self and a point of view entirely their own.

Perhaps that’s the real gift of going somewhere else -

You leave inspired by how others see the world + you return with a clearer sense of your own.

Style is an accumulation of choices.

I’ve always thought style is something you can develop, not something you simply have or don’t have.

It comes from paying attention. From noticing what you’re drawn to, returning to it, and slowly understanding why. Over time, those choices become instinctual + they become your point of view.

For me, that’s really what taste is — the practice of making those choices, again and again.

Good taste isn’t something you possess. It’s something you practice.

And eyewear — perhaps more than anything else we wear — is central to that practice. It sits right there, every day, quietly saying something about how we choose to see ourselves + how we choose to be seen.
