📣 attention drone pilots

🚨 Please keep drones away from the ECCO landfill fire. 🚨

The ECCO landfill fire remains a significant incident, and Calgary Fire Department crews continue to respond. We are seeing reports of unauthorized drones flying over the emergency scene.
Flying a drone near a fire or emergency operation can interfere with emergency response efforts and put first responders and the public at risk.

⚠️ Unauthorized drones can:

• Interfere with firefighting operations and emergency aircraft

• Endanger the safety of first responders

• Disrupt critical emergency response activities

💸 Violating Transport Canada regulations can result in Administrative Monetary Penalties of up to $3,000 for individuals.
