Calgary water is beautiful. 🚣🏔 But your espresso machine has a different opinion. 💧

Our water here comes from the Bow and Elbow Rivers and is classified as "very hard", meaning it's naturally high in calcium and magnesium. (Fun fact: if you're in the south half of the city, your water is likely even harder!) Sources: The City of Calgary, Aquatell Canada

Totally fine to drink, but over time, those minerals quietly build up as scale inside your machine and start causing all kinds of problems. Using softened and filtered water can slow down scale buildup and extend the life of your machine. A small change will save you from a costly repair down the road! 🚵

Water leaking around your portafilter? Check out a gasket (rubber ring) inside the grouphead of your machine!

The gasket helps create a tight connection between the portafilter and the machine during extraction. Over time, it can become hard and worn like a plastic. That's the sign you should replace.

We came in, diagnosed on the spot, and replaced the worn-out parts in a corner of the office's lounge. The team was back to caffeinated and focused after all. ☕

"My machine isn't heating up." - one of the most common reasons customers bring their espresso machine in to us.

We just diagnosed a Profitec Pro 500 with that problem today. After opening it up, we found the relay, a small internal heating element (a black part in the pic!), had failed completely. We swapped it out with a new one, gave the inside a full descale, and are ready to send it home good as new! ✨
