Thanks to the Canadian Revenue Agency for dropping by this week to share helpful information about the disability tax credit, as part of our Community Resource Lounge initiative. Our next guests, from Mosaic Primary Care Network, will join us in our participant lounge from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19. 🚗Buying a car can be overwhelming. From negotiating the financing to arranging a vehicle inspection, it’s a long process and there are a lot of pitfalls to avoid. That’s why we were so happy to have Paige (at right) from the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council here this afternoon to provide some consumer education. It was our second Community Resource Lounge, where we invite partners to drop by over the lunch hour to share information and connect with our community. If you missed today’s session, AMVIC's website is a great resource for information about buying, selling and repairing cars, especially for those purchasing for the first time in Alberta.

Our next visit will be from the Canada Revenue Agency, with a focus on the disability tax credit. They'll be here on Tuesday, July 28 from 12 to 1 pm in our participant lounge by the front desk.

🪏🌻Momentum staff members rolled up their sleeves this week to do some weeding and mulching in our garden space—where we’re growing a variety of native and traditional plants like to***co, sage, sweetgrass and saskatoon berry. The garden project is led by our Sustainability Action Group, who chose plants that support our native pollinators and ecosystem. ☀️ It was a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues while enjoying the warm weather.

Last week, we hosted The Salvation Army for our first Community Resource Lounge – a new connection point where partner organizations drop in to our participant lounge over the lunch hour to chat with our community about services and resources they offer. Maryna and Atallah were on hand on Wednesday, along with our community engagement coordinator Tamlyn, to tell us about the wide variety of programs happening at The Salvation Army Community Services (Calgary) right now – learning opportunities, family supports, recreational activities and so much more.

Our next Community Resource Lounge will be with the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council on Thursday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. If you’re in the area, swing by with your questions about buying, repairing or selling a vehicle in Alberta.
