"How do you define luxury?"

His answer: it isn't defined until it's defined by you.

Luxury isn't one thing. For some it's specifications and finishes. For others it's about features and how a home actually functions day to day. The discovery period at the start of every project exists to figure out which one it is, for that specific family.

Understanding someone well enough to know what luxury means to them, that's the real craft.

How would you describe luxury in your own words?

Your home should be your sanctuary.

Not just a place to sleep and eat. A place where you recover. Where you meditate. Where you move your body. Where you breathe clean air and feel your nervous system calm.

This is why we design dedicated wellness spaces into every West Ridge home.

A meditation room with soft, natural light and acoustic design that creates silence.

A sleep sanctuary with circadian lighting, radiant floor heating, and air quality systems optimized for deep rest.

A cold plunge and sauna for recovery and immune support.

A home gym or yoga studio where movement becomes part of your daily ritual.

These aren't luxuries. They're investments in your family's health, built into your home from day one.

When wellness spaces are designed into your home, they become part of your daily life. You don't have to leave home to recover. You don't have to compromise on your health goals. You don't have to choose between a beautiful home and a healthy one.

You get both.

Build once. Build right. Build for wellness.

There's a kind of confidence that only comes from having already built somewhere.

We know Silverhorn, not from a listing sheet, but from actually standing on these lots, watching the light move across the ridgeline, understanding how the land wants to be built on. That familiarity is hard to fake and harder to rush.

Phase three and four at Silverhorn just opened. The pace of the last phase suggests this window won't stay open long. If you've had this community on your mind, what's been holding you back?

This pizza oven weighs more than most cars.

2,200 lb.
One finished deck.
No room to get it wrong.

That’s the part most people never see.

In a true custom home, the difficult details aren’t solved at the end. They’re planned from the beginning.

Would this make the cut in your dream outdoor kitchen?

"What's the biggest challenge you've ever faced building a custom home?"

His answer: a house on the edge of a cliff, literally.

The hardest part of this build wasn't the topography. It was figuring out how to build on it without giving anything up.

A steep escarpment, a family chasing an impossible view, and a tiered foundation with layered basement levels that made it possible. In the lowest level, a private pool ended up becoming a quiet sanctuary, tucked away from the rest of the house.

Sometimes the hardest problems produce the most personal spaces. This one wasn't planned as a highlight. It became one anyway.

You can tell how a builder earned a client's trust by where that client asks them to build next.

For us, more and more, the answer is Invermere. Not because we advertised there. Because the people who already trusted us wanted that trust to travel with them. We said yes, and brought everything that made the first build work in the first place.

Same team, same standards, just further west. Trust doesn't need a new address to still be trust.

"What's the biggest lesson 15 years has taught you?"

His answer: slow down before you start.

Because when the details are locked in early, price, materials, design, the whole process becomes more fluid. Things still change along the way, that's just part of building something custom. But starting with clarity changes everything that follows.

There's something to be said for a process that values getting it right over getting it started fast.

Would you trade a faster start for a smoother finish?

Every decision you make in the design phase is a bet on the future.

The kitchen layout for the way you hope Sunday mornings will go. The patio built for summers that haven't happened yet. The spare room designed around people you love who will visit it someday.

That's what a home is. A built commitment to a life you're still living into.

We take that kind of trust seriously. Every time.

One of the hardest conversations we have isn't about design at all. It's the one where a homeowner walks in with drawings they've already fallen in love with, only to learn the number attached to them is nothing close to their budget.

It happens more than people think, and it's rarely anyone's fault. Architects are exceptional at vision. What's often missing is someone in the room early who understands how that vision translates into real numbers.

That's usually where we come in, not to limit the dream, but to make sure it's one that's actually possible.

Elboya. Mount Royal. Bearspaw. Bel Air.

Each neighbourhood in Calgary's premium market builds differently. Different massing. Different material palettes. Different structural considerations. Different relationships between the home and the street.

A design that thrives in one of those contexts can feel completely wrong in another.

Fifteen years across all of them means we bring that nuance to every single site evaluation.
