Irene’s fiancé Netta saved her life by jumping on a gr***de in the October 7th attacks.
Now she does everything in her power to keep his memory alive.
On International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism, we stand in solidarity with October 7th survivors and all the victims of terrorism around the world.

As a Jewish community, we have a responsibility to remember our past, honour our stories, and strengthen the future of Jewish life.

Through community commemorations such as Yom HaShoah and Kristallnacht, along with educational programs, exhibits, speakers, and initiatives led by our Holocaust and Human Rights: Remembrance and Education department, we remember the victims of the Holocaust and ensure their memories inspire learning and action.

On Yom HaZikaron, we honour those who sacrificed their lives defending the Jewish homeland and remember victims of terrorism. On Yom HaAtzmaut, we celebrate resilience, achievements, and enduring spirit.

Calgary Jewish Federation brings our community together to mark these meaningful occasions and build a vibrant Jewish future for generations to come… That’s Federation.

Our PJ Library® Book Nook at the Calgary JCC Paperny Family JCC just got even more colourful!
Casper, our Canada Summer Jobs student, installed a stunning handmade felt Alephbet (Hebrew alphabet), lovingly created and donated by Rimon Calgary, a local needlework guild.
The PJ Library® Book Nook is a favourite destination for our many young visitors - and now it’s even more warm, welcoming, and educational!
Thank you to Rimon Calgary for this meaningful gift that will inspire children and families for years to come.
