Apparently my summer strategy has been to disappear into Photoshop. 😅

Between peony sessions, grads, family sessions, events, travel, and all the beautiful galleries waiting to be finished, social media has definitely taken a back seat.

But this image deserved to interrupt the editing marathon.

Every year peony season arrives in a blur—golden evenings, vibrant blooms, creative inspiration, and so many incredible people trusting me to capture this little window of the year. It’s one of my favourite weeks of the entire season, and I always leave feeling so grateful (and with far too many favourite images!).

Thank you to everyone who’s been so patient while I work through your galleries. I’m making my way through each one with lots of love, and I promise there are so many beautiful images coming your way (and to this feed!) very soon. 🌸

Five years.➡️➡️

Five years between these two photographs… and somehow it feels like the blink of an eye.

When we recreated this moment in the peonies this week, all I could think was…

I hope we do it again someday.

Maybe when she graduates.
Maybe on her wedding day.
Maybe years from now with another twirl and another season of life.

One foot still in childhood, the other stepping toward middle school, new adventures, and all the growing that happens far too fast.

Her mom has made a point of documenting each birthday with photos over the years, and I can promise you this: these images become more valuable with every passing season.

We spend so much time photographing milestones—first birthdays, graduations, weddings—but there is something incredibly special about capturing who they are right now. The smile that’s changing, the confidence that’s growing, the personality that shines a little brighter every year.

Happy 12th birthday to this beautiful girl, and congratulations on finishing Grade 6. Middle school is lucky to have you. ❤️

Parents: don’t wait for the “big” milestones. The in-between years deserve to be remembered too.

Parkland Peonies

She’s standing right at the edge of everything she’s worked for… and everything still waiting for her. ✨
The beautiful thing about graduation is that the world suddenly feels so wide open.

So excited for all that’s ahead for this sweet grad. 🤍

The tiniest details that mean so much. 😍

The first time they meet… it’s never loud.

It’s in the way they lean in.
The way they study every little detail.
The way everything feels still for a second.

These moments don’t ask for attention—but they’re the ones that matter most.

And they pass so quickly. 🤍

(If you’re expecting and thinking about newborn photos, I always recommend booking early to reserve a spot.-newborn sessions are generally booked during pregnancy)

but the bloom season is right around the corner 🌸

This session started with a full-on rain dump—like run-for-cover kind of rain—and we shot right through it.
And of course… later that evening? Clear skies and sunshine like nothing ever happened ☀️

Unpredictable, a little chaotic, and somehow always delivers something beautiful in the end 💛
